How do you get to take a ride in a fighter jet?

Everyone has seen videos of other people doing it. Of course, the people are usually famous, 2 people that jump to mind is Steve Largent, who got to take a ride with the Blue Angels when he was playing for the Seahawks, and Nick Lachey with in the last 2 years.

Is this something that is possible, just have to know the right people to do it, or pay up some big dollars to do? Or is this just another perk of being a star in the public's eye, either thru Entertainment or Sports?

I know theres some places out there that you can pay and do simulated dog fights in the air, but its not with actual fighter jets.

Anyone know? This is something I've always wondered about and wanted to do, just have a feeling I won't be able to unless I had someone on the inside who could pull strings.

Try here, of course you have to go to Moscow

For the Blue Angels, etc I think you'd have to be famous, rich or have really big t*ts

Become a reporter, they seem to get flights all the time with the Blue Angels.

I had a friend who rode in a CF-18 in Cold Lake before. That was probably 4 years ago now though.

Man what a rush it would be.

There is an operation in South Africa that gives rides on some more classic jets as well.

Fly MIG fighters yourself in Russia

Did you know, you can fly real MIG fighter yourself without any practical experience. The only thing you need is strong desire and love for adrenaline. Have a look at
www.skyandspacetravel.com, they offer flights in Russia on MIG fighters. The prices start from EUR 11,000 but it is really worth doing this. Russia is the only place in the whole world where you can fly fighters at supersonic speeds.

There's a place in SoCal, I forget the name of it, that you can dogfight with your buddies, in the air. There are adds for the place usually in the back of Maxim.....
