How do you feel at work...

Do you ever get the feeling while at work, behind your desk that you have become this mindles drone working for bottom dollar and you hate every new task that comes your way?

I sure do...

i have.
i had a job like that, and i quit after two weeks. even if it means making less money, i refuse to subject myself to that misery and get stuck in a rut like that.

my old job was sort of like that. my current job, im sorry if this depresses you more, is actually a LOT of fun. i feel challenged, and important

you need to find a new goal, either at work or in life... better if its at work, so you can possibly move up. speak with your superiors and see if there are any new challenges you can take on. this may result in a pay raise at the very least.

WORK SUCKS
I hate my job, and should have stayed at the old agency, even though I was bored to tears every day, beats being frustrated and feeling stupid. What I should have done is listened to my folks and taken them up on the offer to go to college. My with work, family and other stuff I dont have time to go.

Dude, best bet is to bail and find something that you want to do. dont get stuck life is way to short.

I have discovered that I hate jobs, PERIOD. If I could somehow have enough money then I would gladly stay home all day, every day. No matter where I am employed they seem to expect me to work, jeez. My wife has now surpassed me money-wise, she is making more than me currently, and that makes me very happy because this means I am closer to my goal of being a house-husband.

right now I am running a disc burner making 4 copies of one of our software programs and about every 45 seconds I have to reload it. Other than that I am playin a few hands on party poker. But I am off to philly for work next week so the mindless crap this week doesnt seem so bad.

Nope!
I have an AWESOME job!
I'm a fire officer (Captain) and I've been doing it for almost 20 yrs.
Jimabena, keep up the good work...you're gonna love it, too!
I work 7 day shifts and (sleep 7 night shifts, giving me a minimum of 16 days off every month, not including the days after having slept for 10 hours.

No one handed this job to me...I worked hard, made it through the ranks, and now I get to enjoy all that hard work.

Got a dead-end job?
Stay in school!
Improve your education and get OUTTA there!

NO, NEVER

Like Blair I am a firefighter as well as an emergency medical technician and a rescue SCUBA diver. The pay is OK, the benifits are asome. Plus I work 24 hours on, 48 hours off and get an extra 24 hours off for every 10 days I work (Kelly Day).

There are so many things about my job that you can really only understand if you are a part of it, and that is what makes it so great. I'm just getting started too. In the fall I'm off to Paramedic school and I also am looking into airport rescue firefighting as well.

I work at a bike shop so I can usually get some enjoyment out of the tasks I have to do. It's all in how you think about it but it can be really hard to chang your state of mind if you have your mind up that you don't like what you are doing.

I feel like that every now and then... sometimes I go through cycles of burnout ranging from not so bad to very close to just walking out and not coming back for a week.

When I feel like that I'll go through some of my archived email to remind myself of some of the lives I've impacted in a positive way. Going back to work then usually isn't too hard

I hate my job. Hate.

I'm either too busy, or not busy enough.

I'm burnt out and any energy I have gets sucked away to boredom.

The reason I'm still there, I make more there then certain trades people and I can use the cash.
