"Hey You...Potty Mouth" enough already

I read Yotatech a lot more than I post and it is something I do with my 7 and 8 year old who can both read, and read well. With greater frequency there are many of you that continue to do your best to circumvent the censor by typing various combinations of swear words. If you can't flat out type it out then that should tell you something, you know it is against the rules.

See rules here
http://www.yotatech.com/rules/updated/index3.htm

I could care less if you swear like a fat sailor in real life, not the point. I have a pretty flowery vocabulary myself, but not around my children.

Yotatech is a family friendly site and is self proclaimed as such in the rules. If you don't like that atmosphere, then please do not try to circumvent it with creative speech.

I would hate to have to not be able to continue to share Yotatech with them as they are learning to love Toyotas more and spend time with Daddy, but if this keeps up, I will be forced to spend less time here. This no longer applies since I can do more about it now as a moderator.

So, please...obey the posted rules and keep your potty "keyboard" in check. I grow weary of having to explain $&#&^#&@ words to my boys.

Those of you who feel as I do, help me out and report the renegades so we moderators can do our job cause we can't read all the posts. There is a little exclamation point to the bottom left of each post, under the username and avatar to report posts.

If I see you breaking the language policy here I will hit you with an infraction/warning, everytime and no exceptions.

If you are a repeat offender you will get a temporary or permanent vacation.

Thank you!

I know i have let the occasional "lesser" offensive word slip, but i do try my best to not let that happen. I know it doesn't bother me at all, but i do respect both the rules of the forum and that there are members, such as yourself, that share YT with their children. Keep it clean folks!

If you want to use your "potty keyboard language" go to pirate.

I grow very weary of it too, and I have to end up giving out infractions for it.
If a member receives enough infractions, it is auto ban time.

The server will boot you for one month, or if staff deems that you are a repeat offender, you will not be coming back here again.

We have many families here with kid's who also read, and it is a shame if they pick up on words they read here when those words or the variation of it by fooling the censor gets through.

There is no need to inject colorful language into a post.
Does it help the post?

And we do thank the members who take the time to report a post.
Staff can not always jump onto it as soon as we get the email, as we do have lives away from the keyboard too.
But we do try and handle most reported posts in a timely fashion.

Great post, but to be honest everyone experiences swear words sooner or later. Experiencing them at school, from movies, music, etc. The only way to keep them from learning of all the bad in our world would be to home-school them, and keep them from going out in to the public. Sounds crazy but I actually had a friend who's parents did this to him. His name was Luke and his parents were a little crazy, no TV, no computer, no phone, never going out in public, no friends, home-schooled, etc. Needless to say he never learned about drugs, violence, or swear words. There methods worked.

Freedom of speech has nothing to do with it and the word is "speech".

From the link I posted above which might should read:

"The YotaTech rules and guidelines are listed below. Violation of any one of these rules can result in a warning, a temporary ban or a permanent ban. Our rules are designed to make your online experience at YotaTech a pleasurable and informative experience for everyone involved. We have zero tolerance for rule infractions, so be forewarned.

Also - Ignorance to what the rules are here IS NOT AN EXCUSE. The rules of other boards are of no consequence here. If you use this forum, you agree to our rules - plain and simple.
If you break the rules we have listed here and we call you on it, we do not want to hear any whining.

Failure to comply by these rules may end up in having your account suspended or terminated. Some of these rules are also posted on the Registration page you agreed to when you registered here.

YotaTech is operated as a board viewable by all ages, in other words, we fall in between G and PG rated. If you feel you can not comply with these rules we have stated here, then YotaTech is not the place for you. There are other boards out there that do allow the stuff that we do not. Feel free to visit them if you can not follow our rules, or start up your own forum.

Contrary to what some may think here, we do not use a three strikes you are out system. It is up to the staff to decide infractions here if they warrant a warning, a temp ban, or a full ban. If you are issued any of the three, please no whining, it is our decision, and ours alone.

We work hard (and for free I might add) to make YotaTech an enjoyable place for all who visit to learn and share their experiences with others. When we have to take action to enforce these rules, it also takes away from our free time.

Skipping ahead...

"#3 Foul language - this also includes trying to get around the word censor using words to replace the "F" word (and others).

We do let a few words slip by that you will hear on Primetime TV, but some words such as the "F" word or fooling the censor with alternate like words will not be tolerated."

These are not my rules, but ones your agreed to when you joined this forum. I think you just got (2) strikes...care for another?

I would say the internet is probably not the best place for 5 to 6 year olds. That being said, if you don't like the rules of the forum, get the hell out.

I would like to thank you for your wonderful attitude.

It is people like you that make this world such a great place.

Most would say that respecting the wishes of a gentleman wanting nothing more than to share the world of toyotas with his sons is a decent thing to do.

After all, it isn't much of a request. Just simply not typing profane words, all of which have synonyms NOT blocked by the censor.

But not you. Oh no, not you. You feel that, since God graced you with eyes, 10 fingers, and what could be generously called a brain, you must disrespect this man, give him the exact opposite of what he asked.

You exercise your ability to speak to the detriment of society, (though you can't spell the word "speech" correctly) and flourish in your ignorance. I applaud you.

It really is great to have you on the forum. Such pollution of these pages is much appreciated by me, and, I'm sure, by the mods and Wabbit.

Perhaps you could even have the mods change your screen name to "cork soaker", but perhaps you don't watch Saturday Night Live.

I agree. I belong to an Acura board that doesn't have any language policy in place. It's pretty disappointing that I can't get through a thread without some peripubescent poster spouting off like his CEL means the end of the world. If everything is so serious that you have to use your worst language in every sentence, you need to calm down. Do you really want to offend people you are trying to communicate with? Besides, when things get REALLY bad, what words do you have in reserve?

Wabbit, thanks for reminding us to report abuse. First there's tolerance, then acceptance, then embracing. Man, I love free "speach."

I used to love this board because I could browse at school, or at work durring break. Now I can no longer view yotatech at work because the language is getting so bad . The means I have to talk to my co-workers

Please please clean it up people, I miss my yotatech lunch break.

I am in complete agreement with you Brian. I do wish people would abide by the rules and if you can't help but curse go to a different forum.

I hate to tell you but freedom of "speach" and all that bull doesn't apply here, there are rules which we all agreed to when we joined. You might want to reread them.

While I myself am nowhere near perfect I try very hard to refrain from cursing especially in front of my kids, which is difficult at times as I am prior Navy (ever heard of the term cuss like a sailor, we got it honest). All someone does when they curse is show their lack of mastery of the English language, hate to repeat that but was part of my lecture when my Mom busted me using less than proper English when I was much younger.
