Heres some good pics!

So, today, I went out and help my friend fix his 77 Toyota PU, and on the way home, I decided to get some pictures of my beast.

And here is the damage that it has on it

And here is the only interior shot I got

And, this is the last snow that is anywhere near my area.

There you have it.

Those pics make me miss my '90 . Where in Montana are you?, I didn't think there was much snow on the ground anywhere until you got pretty far north.

I am actually quite impressed with the previous owner of this vehicle. There is very little rust on it, and the rust that is there has been mostly from the snow around here. The engine is a little dirty, but it still runs good. I think there is a coolant leak somewhere, because whenever I accelerate hard, I smell burning coolant. Oh yeah, there is another spot of rust where the muffler "meets" the last bit of pipe, but they aren't connected, so its no biggy.

Yeah, it goes all they way to Canada if a recall correctly, I lived in West Glacier for 14 years and then down south in Missoula for another 14 so I know the state very well. I envy you for living in such great country with such a sweet 4Runner.

Today has been a really nice day, and since my friend is out doing tennis stuff today (at least, I think he is....), I wasn't able to go out and get any 4 wheel pictures. I cleaned up the truck a little bit today (other then the outside) so I am not embarrased to have people get in it (not like I was anyway ) The main problem I was having with ragged ness was the back part. My paneling was off, I had styrafoam from a friend of mine giving me a computer to work on, and it just wasn't all that pretty. I decided to fold up the seats too so people could sit in the back.

Before:

After:

When it comes to the ouside, meh, I don't see the point of washing it yet when it the forecast is still calling for snow in the area.

My rig has been a good peice of paper for people:

(if you can't read it, it says "In Need of a Bath"

There are a few things I absolutley love about this rig when it comes to what it looks like

1) The wheels:

2) The Speakers in the back:

The engine is "clean" when compared to most of the other engines on our property

The overall interior damage consists of mainly cracks on the dash, a tear in my drivers side seat cover (probably from my fat ass), and a chunk out of the door arm rest.

and also, my console

My dash is well organized and the wires are well hidden:

(the wires on the passenger side are the speaker wires. The white one goes all the way to the back for the passenger side speaker.)

Thats all for today. I am hoping that I can get some action pictures pretty soon.

Heh, I didn't delete them, I moved them to a different photo album in photobucket. They are still working for me, but you can look at them here

I got some pictures of the rig in action today, but my batteries are dead in the camera, so I will get them uploaded as soon as possible.

Well, I got pictures of the beast after my run. All I did was go down to this mud pit thing that I guess a lot of people use with some big trucks (because there are some huge ruts in the trail towards it) and spun it around a couple times.

Here are the pics:

and one after I got it home rinsed off (my parents probably wouldn't have been happy when they saw it.

Well, I got another memory card reader for my other camera, so I got some new pictures to show (this camera isn't as good quality, but I take pictures a lot better with it because it is a lot bigger then the other one.)

Those little ลลลลers took me close to 15 minutes each to scrub all the grime off of them. They look a lot better though.

I washed it all off today, and it looks pretty good.

I love the shape of these trucks straight from the front.

Anybody know what that S stands for?

So I went out and washed her again. I was going to go hiking yesterday, but I found a trail, and got it a little muddy, and the fact that I went to the local dump, and it got really dusty on the inside made me do quite a bit of work today.

I finally got down and scrubbed the living crap out of those wheels. I went and bought some wheel polish and a brush (along with many other things) and went to town.

Then I went crazy on the seats, the dash, the siding, and the windows, and now it sparkles like an old beat up truck should.

Then, I came into my house, sat my ass on one of our recliner chairs, and watched TV for awhile. Along with washing the truck, building a deck on my grandmas house, and doing a lot of yard work, I am pretty beat.

I am planning on doing a lot this summer. First, I need to find the culprit of my oil leak. My guess is the head gasket or the oil pan gasket. Then, I need to put some new u-joints on it. I want to get some new shocks, and a lift. Then, get some bigger tires, take off the running boards, and a external visor. I want to get some new KC fog lamps, and a new drivers side door (if I ever get out of the car, I have to literally punch the door to get out). Then for the inside, I want to do some moving around of the switches for all my ลลลล. I want some new speakers in the front and back (I have the stock ones in the walls on the back, plus my Sony's). A new back bumper, and possibly put my old brush gaurd from a Nissan, and this thing should be ready to actually do some real wheeling.

By the way, you can see my two boats in the background of the second picture. A friend of mine has a trailor over in Idaho that he might sell to me that is perfect for the one on the bottom. I imagine that the 4Runner will pull those light peices of ลลลล quite well, considering I hauled the top one up to the local reservoir in my Ranger. That was one of the funniest trips I have ever taken .

don't forget to check the oil pump seal and look for a corresponding wear groove in the harmonic balancer.....

So, going through my old threads to delete some of them, and just reflect on fond memories of my old beast, I stumbled upon here, and noticed the top two pictures on the first post of this page....WTF?!

Heh, I guess moving pictures to a sub album, and then replacing them with pictures with the same name helps out in the sequence of events

I miss my truck/4Runner
