Gun shots

I tell you man, you can't even nap in the mornings anymore.
There were about 8 gunshots at my complex earlier this morning, and the police have about 8 cruisers out here investigating.

I'm sure this will be on the local news tonight.

The last several nights I have been home packing in Kent, I have gone to sleep to the sound of gunshots. It's not that unusual anymore.

I am glad to be escaping South King County.

You sure it wasn't a neighbor that had those "burrito specials"? Sometimes the aftermath of those things gives sounds like gun shots.

Corey,

I would move out before you end up with an extra hole that God didn't intend for you to have.

, Jim

During my "transition period" I lived in "rustic" neighborhood that included;

3 known felons
2 meth labs
1 set of neighbors with known drug use/possession/selling and domestic abuse
Another set of neighbors who sole and stripped cars
A public park full of users, sellers, pimps, whores, teenage punks and vandals, and finally the homeless.

I clearly recall the S.W.A.T or crisis teams coming to the "hood" to serve warrants, temporarily shut down meth labs, and find special time to deal with the domestic squabble of my f'ing neighbors.

Though to some people this might sound like an urban rustic setting, to me it was hell.

Gun shots, the smell of toxic chemicals in the air, ricers dragging down my old narrow street and the BS from the f'ing neighbors got me to move out after 4.5 years.

Supporting my Mom, Sister and Niece, girl friends and their kids (see post about dating co-workers for more details) while living in Oregon and working in California. I was know as "troll" the first year I worked graveyards cause I lived in my Taco and drove to Oregon on the weekends.

So, what would you do if your family was in crisis? My answer was just about anything.

Would I do over again? Mmmmmm hell no. Out of that experience I came up with a new personal slogan

"drink more and talk less"

Do you live in the ghetto, Corey?

What's going on in WA to have all this shooting?

OH! You meant packing up your belongings. I thought you meant "packing". I have wanted to be "packing" several places I have been through.

I don't know what is going on here in Washington, but the "DC Sniper" practiced on a stump here in Tacoma.

hahhahaha It was unintentional, I *DID* mean packing up my belongings for for the move, but it applies the other way as well. In my neighborhood, going for a walk at night is literally asking to be accosted.

I am only a few miles north of where Corey is, but it's a war zone some nights. I have given up on cleaning up the drug paraphernalia I find in my yard and I catch the most amazing things on my surveillance cameras

Turned out it was some dude with a firework he was holding in his hand that shot out multiple shots.

They thought at first he had a gun since he was aiming the thing.
Needless to say he will be evicted.

I don't let people around me run me out of where I call home for the past 9 years.
I have gotten druggies, prostitutes and others evicted from here.

The place has gotten better than when I first moved here.

The ghetto?
Not exactly, but when you don't have Boeing wages anymore, and still pay child support, you can't be picky where you live.

in my county, Iredell County NC the only law about this is that you can't shoot anything in your neighbors yard or cause anything to fall on your neighbors home. Other than that you can shoot 24/7.
Guns are very dangerous in the wrong hands

There is nothing worse than neighbors that can't mind their own business except for one that complains to the prop. manager or cops. I don't understand why people think their way of life is the best and the cops can deal with what is unexceptable to you. As for getting evected for shooting fireworks that is crazy and I hope you didn't call the cops on this poor fellow that was obviously having a good day. I say buy some land and then govern it accordingly, but while living together you need to make acceptions.

Another thing is that fireworks and guns do not sound the same. I messed with some 1/4 sticks of dynomite back in the late 80s for landscaping and that is a little louder than my 12 gauge but every other fire cracker was much quiter than my .22

I have a neighbor that stares at me when I am down on my land. He had a problem with my mom over building regs so he took it out on my by smashing my Bronco windows. He stares at me and my brother and when confronted he said "I really enjoy staring at boys" I have had the cops called on me for trespassing on my own dock, on the property line and if I go in the yard he calls the cops. They have come over 10 times for nothing. The officers have advised me to carry a gun in the event that he comes on my land in a threating manner. He said that guys is a freak and there is no telling what he can do. I was told to be carefull so I carry a Glock 9 with hollow points everytime I go to my lot :wtf:

Gun shots and crime are the reason I left St Pete, FL for my current home in Highlands. My wife and I lived in a decent area of town but heard gun shots a lot. One day I could hear them down the street and they got louder. It was two cars driving beside each other, and shooting each other. My wife calls 911 to report the shooting, and dispatch tells her they have been doing it for miles. We decided we weren't going to bring our kids up there and moved to a house that my grandmother had owned in NC.
I still here gun shoots all the time buts its hunters and doesn't usually bother me, untill yesterday when I took my lab to the vet because of back problems. The vet shows me the X-ray, and there is a piece shot in her chest. , I was pissed. He said its wasn't a problem and one of his large dogs has a 22, buckshot, and another bullet in him. Most likely the one piece in my dog was a stray shot. Hunters have been arrested by my house before for shooting towards it from the road (it can't be seen easily, but its still illegal to shoot from a car).
BTW I'm a gun nut/hunter myself, but some people are just plain stupid an shouldn't have them.

For one thing, firworks are strictly illegal here within the city limits.
Also my complex has cedar sides and roofing.
You can imagine why the managment & property owners here shun fireworks.
This place has had a few fires before related to fireworks.

Did I call the police this time?
No I did not, but have in the past.

When my way of life is threatened by some stupid duffass with fireworks that doesn't have enough sense to not light them around wood buildings, you are damn right I'm calling somebody.

And oh yeah, his good day could have turned into a nighmare had our building caught on fire and someone burned to death or lost all of their belongings.

Been there done that.

How much land are you talking about? He told you he likes looking at boys after breaking your windows? I would provoke that guy until I drove him to make an unforunate move.

Provoke!?!

Best to manage the situation rather than escalate it. This isn't one of those science experience where you hope you know the outcome.
