Same guy who buys a ford anyway.

At least it has (had) strong Ujoints, and good rear diff...

Paul Harvey once told of people towing a little car, in Reverse, with all 4 on the ground. Supposedly it actually ran the engine backwards...

and i would see why the tow a rear wheel truck on a dolly, if it was behind the motorhome, they put it on the dolly so that the odometer doesnt read really high, the odo is linked to the front wheel, so my having the front wheels on the dolly you dont rack up mileage that arent real that would cause to devaule the truck. who would want to buy a ford wiht 200k on it, even tho it was only driven a fraction of that.
I thought the speedo was connedted to the transmission (rear of it - driveline, that is why they have driveshft disconects available aftermarket) in these ie if in neutral it will still turn - has nothing to do with the fron wheels

I know my speedo is connected to the tranny in the car.

I'm guessing this is just another internet joke. Looking at the snow on the truck I would think it's more likely the driver lost control on snow/ice and hit something sideways breaking the rim. The rim itself looks in decent shape and there would most likely be discoloring from the heat if it was really dragged, although thinking of a lot of the old folks I've seen on the interstate in a huge RV I guess it wouldn't surprise me.

My parents almost did that years ago in the motorhome. We made it about 10 feet before we realized what that screeching sound of rubber was.

The same sound as dollar bills flying out of a wallet.
