Going from Chicago to Vegas in one day

Me and my parents are going to visit family in Vegas for Thanksgiving week. We will be taking my mom's '04 4Runner. Any tips on what I should do to the car before we go? Keep in mind that we will only be stopping to get gas.

Oh and any tips on the travel? Anything that has been useful on your trips?

And lastly anyone else going somewhere for Thanksgiving?

Thanks!

Thanks.

What about the drive belts?

I started doing my own maintenance to the car after the big 30k interval.

yea no noises or anything.

Just because I'm random here's a list of stuff: (Feel free to add/remove (with reason))
-Check & inflate tires (Spare too!)
-Check oil, replace if necessarily (I'm on Mobil1 15k stuff, and I still have 10k left).
-Check gear oil in xcase , rear (just replaced seal, and front(DEF needs it)
-Washer fluid
-Brake
-Power Steering
-Coolant, (it's that Super long life pink stuff)
-Air filter
-Check chassis and driveline bolts
-Detail it
-Spare keyes

What am i missing....? hmm...

I just picked up a pair.

Hmm spare keys. Great idea. I can imagine getting out of the car only to realize the keys are in there and your out there 1,700 miles from home, stopped by the simplest thing ever.

That's going on the list.

Rockstar Energy Drink for you... The triple size ones! That's a haul.

I'd just run to Target or something and get one of those emergency kits. I think the one I got was pretty cheap. Jumper cables, flares, can of tire goo...

Good luck with that trip and Happy Turkey Day. I'll keep an eye out for a 4Runner with Ill. plates!

89123 I'm off the Warm Springs exit on 215. Close to the airport. I'll keep an eye out, and be safe on the trip. I hope your weather is mild.

it prolly wouldnt hurt putting some seafoam in a couple days before you leave too...

fyi, that drive will be HORRIBLE!!! my and my dad drove out to Indianna to pick up a horse trailer... went there and back in 4 days with only stopping for gas, stop by cabella's original store, and one 6 hour stint sleeping in a hotel and getting showers...

HORRIBLE!!!!!

OH! If you get the chance while you are here, the Bass Pro Shop is something to see! It's their flagship store, so there is a river in it, a gun range, and so on. They also have a rare gun room. There are some fantastic pieces in there. Make your relatives take you there. It's at the Silverton Casino. Also they have a pretty awesome salt water tank complete with mermaids.

Come on, it's Vegas. Don't be surprised and all. If your not 21 you can still see this stuff. If you are 21 or older and want to hit a casino, go to Palms. The eye candy there is second to none. There and Planet Hollywood.

Cheers!

'thanks for all the responses guys!!

Toyotaman, this weekend I'll go out and get a grease gun, mine disappeared.

Al's chop shop, what kind of tire chains do you recommend? I don't think we will hit snow though? Maybe, haha, is it snowing in Colorado?

Nice. That sounds like a kick ass place to go. I love the strip, even though I am under 21, I still love it there.

Space-junk, I was thinking about seafoaming today too. Also I dunno about you guys, but I LOVE car trips no matter how far and long.
