Someone has it across their windshield in big letters where I live.

Hope we don't insult the member here with that title.

during my redneck springbreak, i heard it a million times and saw it one every lifted truck out there... stickers, shirts, whatever they could do to get it on... you could drive down the beach and scream get er dun and i guarentee 5+ people would respond... the people who use it usually have no character of thier own and lack personal humor so they rely on stupid phrases such as get er dun or that little john "OKAY" "WHAT" bs...

all of my friends now use it when we need to make reference about something that is redneck or ghetto but not to let anyone else know that we are offending them...

GET ER DUN!

I saw it on a special on the Comedy Channel where Jeff Foxworthy had several comedians on one show doing live stand up. One of the guys, a fireplug of a guy with flannel and a ball cap, every once in a while in his bit would say "Git er done!" That's where I thought it came from.

Larry was on Leno the other day and was asked about the phrase...he gave it a very positive meaning: Whatever your going to do, give it 110% and ger r done. Said he has loads of pictures from people in Iraq with it painted on Tanks, Hellicoptors, etc.

Unfortunately 90% of the public thinks its more about nailing a girl than giving it 110%.

When needing a good redneck phrase I like to use "Full Pull".

But tractor pulls don't have the popularity that Larry the cable guy has right now.

What about "Badass"?
"That's badass"

Those bike assembling, theme bike actors known as Orange County Choppers seem to have brought that to the mainstream.
(I'm not knocking them, it's just that there are other people who deserve to be on TV, real talent.)

"I had turkey for dinner, it was badass"

it's pretty popular with all the local "wheelers" that think tearing up somebody's back yard in their jacked up blazer and leaving all their garbage and beer bottles behind is quality entertainment

I resemble that statement!

I still like it. Its motivating, like Nike "just do it". What do I tell myself when I'm putting something off like a truck repair? "Get er dun!"

That there's funny, I don't care who you are!!

I've been listening to Larry for years, he has been a regular guest (almost every morning) on the 98 Rock Baltimore's morning show for about 8 years now. His stand up is funny, but you should hear his commentary he does on popular subjects, that is some funny stuff.

Oh man yeah I am so sick of hearing that stinking phrase. I am just hoping it will get old enough and pass like the wazzzzup phrase. If you really want to be a redneck then come to SC with your lifted trucks with rebel flags flying and wearing dixie outfitters all the time, go to wedding wearing bluejeans overalls or carharts. Wear your caps higher up, talk real loud, drive loud trucks, yell yeehaw alot, play Bluegrass music on your massive speakers, drive trucks that look like crap but runs like NASCAR. The list goes on and on. Welcome to redneck state of SC.

I heard the Cable Guy's cd the first time last summer. I really didn't think it was funny. IMO the entire "blue collar" group is pretty lame. Maybe its because I am not a redneck.

Anyone heard Dane Cook? Now that's a funny guy!
