Ever catch people checking out your truck?

this week there have been a number of times where i walked out to my truck to find people crouched down looking at my truck, mostly looking at the SAS but it still makes me glad i have an alarm. Every time i've unset my alarm and they quickly stand up and look around to see me standing over them and they've always been friendly and just curious about the truck... i dont know if i've been living in CA for too long but it kinda concerns me that they are snooping around.

Funny, I was just thinking about making a thread about something similar. I usually get looks while I'm driving around. Yesterday, the GF and I stopped at the local Goodwill to drop off some clothes and to look for some pieces for a Halloween costume. While driving off, there was a guy in the parking lot who whipped his head around as I drove passed him. I had my window rolled up, but I could read his lips as I drove by, "Those tires a sick!", as he was talking to the person in the car with him.

I've also had small kids yell at me while I drive pass them on the street. Last one yelled to me, "Nice truck! Needs bigger tires!!". I looked at my GF and said, "Told you so!"

Usually it's the ladies...

It makes me feel good when the girls drive past me and give me the double take... I told the better half about one girl who did that the other day, she said it HAD to be because of my truck... She was just trying to deflate my increasing ego... I know what that girl wanted... And it wasn't my truck... Guess I still got it...

Mine is all stock besides a CB antenna and my snorkel yet everyone loves it, they are in awe that its not a tundra or pickup but a T100. Whats that they ask, then I can explain.

haha, most of the time I do. But when your driving a truck like this it's bound to happen....

I especially get funny looks when I put my red 1/2 door on. Obviously not finished but people eat it up.

the only looks i ever get are out of curiosity because of the bumper & winch, and most girls just say , "what kind of jeep is that", but all my friends think my 4runner is ugly.

Was driving up to Santa Cruz this summer... long hwy 5, flat and straight. Had this civic weaving in and out of traffic, and just sitting right next to me. Id slow down to let him pass, he'd then slow. Id try to pass so he would stop being all weird.

Next thing I know, I got these two dudes yelling at the top of their lungs ... "HEY!!! WHAT SIZE TIRES ARE THOSE?!!" I get startled, and was like..wtf, I yell back "35's!!" and they give me the shaka and fly off. I was freaked out cause I thought they was gonna shoot me or something...

Then, up the road I sees them at the gas station, and they flash me an industrial sized can of vaseline. This is when things got really weird.

I get the rubberneck syndrome all the time with the Supra.

People see me parked and drive around the block to come back and talk about it.
I've even came out of a store before to see a guy snooping around it, but it turns out he had one parked just a stone's throw away.

So I snooped too

usually its people asking how much my tires cost... is that good or bad? haha!

however if I see a group of people walking along the sidewalk, I will "pop" my exhaust to scare them

Only the sharks at toyota when I go to buy filters, they always ask how I got 03 4runner rims on it, or how many miles on my 87. One time somone tried to buy my 01 when I was helping my brother get his FJ. A sales man kept asking where are the keys to that 4runner finally I steped out of the sales cubicle and said in my pocket and that's where the're gonna stay. The guy was dissapointed and so were the people looking to buy my 4runner. ha ha

i get looks all the time from people on a daily basis and usually once every few weeks (sometimes even every couple of days) someone stops me and gives me a compliment or whatever on the truck at a gas station/red light/ parking lot etc etc. Its usually the older guys that like it though, and when the top is off i get even more compliments from everyone. I'm not gona lie though, most of my buddies think my truck is an old POS. I dont care though cause i just love the way it looks.

lol yeah i had a dealer say something similar to another dealer while i was at the dealership. 80s toyota 4x4s are really rare around here mostly because of the insane amount of salt on the roads during the winter time.

Most people think my truck is just some POS redneck beater cuz of the dents, but I get some good compliments from the people who actually know what a little beast it really is.

people stare at my '79 all the time.
last week i was in town at a stop sign intersection, window rolled down. a hot girl walked by and said, "your trucks dirty, you musta been having fun with it (long pause...)... I like it dirty" she said.
not even joking. i was headed to work otherwise i just might have invited her in for a ride.

When I am around my best friends beautiful 76' chev I don't get many looks.

But when I am by myself I'll get the double takes, hott chicks looking, little kids pointing, and the kids that hangout at the grocery store come up and talk to me.

I've caught a few lookers, but then again, it's a 4Runner, just like all the others out there, except not quite as pretty.

That truck used to park in the back parking lot at Clackamas Community College. Always took up two spots.. and often 4. To be honest the nice paint and perfect trim always pissed me off. Does he wheel it? I always wanted to get a big bucket of mud and dump it right on the hood.

Does the snorkel get a lot of weird looks?
I am getting mine installed very soon, and I am sure I will feel a little weird with it.

I was at the dealer Monday to drop off the rig for the UCAs, and the kid who puts in the plastic seat covers and paper floormats was just about drooling.
Even the service manager told the guy to put his tongue back in his mouth.
He drove it away around to the back lot, kind of a weird feeling seeing your rig drive off, but also gave me a chance to hear how nice the Magnaflow sounds on the outside.
