Can he wait a year?
I would suggest the Tacoma too but there'll invariably be some issues that will eventually show themselves. |

When I looked at them last fall, the DC tacomas were stickered at about $32, the DC Tundras about $34. You get more truck for the money with the Tundra, but it might be overkill for him. Plus, with the Tundras being redesigned in the near future, he'd be buying one of the last of the first generation Tundras, so he may kick himself when he sees the new ones (or not).
IMO, if price were the issue, I'd go with the Tundra because of how much more truck you get for nominally more money, not the other way around.

I would go with the Tundra if the price difference was only $2k. I like how it looks now, it might look like crap with the redesign.

My friend just bought an 05 Tundra access cab. Great truck. a ton of power and a lot of room. The discussion my friend and I kept having was an access cab or DC. IF oyu compare a DC taco and a DC Tundra--the Tundra is frickin' huge!!! If size isn't an issue, then go for either the access Tundra or Taco. My friend is VERY GALD he didn't get the DC TUNDRA.
