Death of forum member pete f

I originally posted in the Trucks 89-95 thread because that is where most folks knew him but the moderator moved it here.

I'm sad to announce that forum member pete f (Pete Fagen) passed away this past week. I received a voice message yesterday on my cell phone from his son who was contacting all the folks on Pete's phone. I don't have any details yet but am awaiting further information when I get a call back from Pete's family

This came as a shock to me because Pete & I have talked on the phone about every 3-4 weeks for the past year or so and I had no idea anything was wrong, so at this point I'm guessing it was some sort of accident or a sudden illness.

I'll keep you guys posted as I learn more. Pete was a GREAT guy & it's a shame there's one less person like him in the world...

Gary

Gary,

I had talked to Pete on the phone numerous times (runs a fishing camp up in the northeast ? if it is the one I am thinking about) and he had purchased quite a few things for his truck from me. Sorry to hear about this.

Please let me know some more details when they are available.

R.I.P. Pete. My condolences, and prayers are for his family.

An Irsh Blessing for his family:
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

OK, I spoke with Pete's wife (Gail) on Monday. It seems he passed peacefully in his sleep a little over a week ago.

Gail said most who knew him thought he would meet his maker at the tusks of a wild hog (hunting them was his most recent passion)--god bless her, she kept her sense of humor!

No other information was given or requested.

I received another call from Pete's son, Pete Jr., today; he said Pete had mild emphazima (sp?) for several years & it was a contributing factor in his not surviving the heart attack he died from in his sleep. Pete Jr. said it wasn't a bad way to go, quietly in bed next to the one you love....and I have to agree with him.

What was Pete's user name on here?

That is the way to go, my dad died the same way. My neighbor Mikey (age 38) died last week too, just the same way, heart attact in the night and just didn't make it out of bed that day. No one here gets out alive, so when its my time make it fast please.

RIP Pete, Mikey, and dad.
