Question Cup cars vs Series cars: What is the difference?

What is the difference between a Nextel Cup car and a Busch Series car? I know the Nextel Cup cars are the big-daddys, but what makes them more badass than the Busch Series race cars? On television they look pretty much identical to the casual observer.

The Busch cars are a 100 lbs lighter. Plus in superspeedway trim the Busch cars have a "wicker" flap on the roof.

The motors have less compression. The Nextel cars have a max 14:1 compression. The busch cars have 11:1.

So there really isn't much difference.... How much does the approximately 3lbs of compression difference change the horsepower rating?
