Talking Chicks who wrench? Ladies Stand up!

I forget that we are a rarity. After another 6 hours of wrenching on Tippy I felt compelled to write *LOL* I don't care if you help hold the wrench while your man hits the philips head. Or if ya wrench without your man. But we ladies of Toyota wrenching nature need to be reminded why we do it.

Why do we do it?

*************

Well I do it for a lot of reasons!

- My nic name is pig pen - can't get off of that one without some axle grease!

-Zip ties and long hair go a long way

- I love a good puzzle... and well underneath my truck is a good puzzle. But I still don't have the love for my engine like Katie does!

-What is harder for us? Boobs get in the way! What is easier? We contort better.

Post up ladies (Or men for your ladies!)

taught my girl to weld a couple of days ago...that count?

probably not...she probably wanted to argue nail glue could hold it (or something)

Working on the truck has become mine and Justin's new hobby. I installed the tube doors myself. Together we have recently done the torsion bars and the bikini top. I also like the fact that when we go on local trail runs I'm one of only 2 women who drive.

I am looking into taking a welding class this fall. I would like to eventually learn how to make my own roll cage!

I Like girls who wrench. =D In my past year's Auto Shop Class, there was a few ladies who were taking apart struts and doing brakes. I was soooo into them...

My daughter took welding in high school. She had me supervise her as she learned to change her tire, cause she wanted to know how to do it. She has changed her oil. She had to show a boyfriend how to change his tire. She had to teach a boyfriend how to drive a stick.

And she is in college now for fashion design.

Since I've had back surgery I haven't been able to work on my truck...so I ask my girlfriend to help(she's a nurse) and she loves it. It hasn't been anything too crazy...yet....I'm working on her to replace my u-joints that are toast...in due time. At least she tries and doesn't care if she gets dirty, that's the half of it!

Long hair and creeper wheels! AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thin, long fingered hands. Check.
Leverage is my friend.

TB, belts, hoses, plugs, wp, rear axle seal, r/r axle for new bearing, front brakes, a few small mods like the extended diff breather, turned hitch upside down and cut bumper to fit, oil changes......
that's some of it.

I'm also the 'help, my car is spewing coffee (!)/making horrible noise/clicks/all my lights are on/flat tire/etc, etc' person for my sisters.

And no, I don't know what I'm doing. A lot of it's seat of my pants learning. So far nothing's fallen off. Yet.

It's gotten to the stage where the excuse "What do I know, I'm a girl?" doesn't work anymore .

I too am looking to learn how to weld.

I wrench on things purely because I like the physical nature of it. Toss diagnosis, electrical, and any measuring into the garbage....if all I could do all day was just wrench on stuff, I would be the happiest girl on the planet. I know it might sound weird, but it's the truth. And my yota has been providing quite a sufficient amount of wrenching for me, what with having to rebuild the entire motor and all. But even now that that's done, it still gives me little projects here and there. Once those are all fixed, I'll be able to start on my long list of TLC for her. It will be grand.

I'm sorry but I'm yet to meet a lady who can contort like I can, I'm 6'2" 145 lbs. and very flexible, Example. That pick is a few years old but I can still do it. Of corse I suppose I am not part of the norm.

As for wrenching ladies, unfortunatly I don't know of any all thought I know one of my friends probably would be given the right encouragement.
