At the moment I'm in Halifax awaiting my flight, should be another hour and a half before boarding time.

To the kid from Halifax, don't go out there unless you have some sort of specialty training, I wish I didn't move out there. Now I'm stuck until I get rid of my car and can move home for school.

*sigh*

Anybody want to buy a 2000 Camry XLE, fully loaded with a 3 year warranty?

Yeah BC is totally booming right now (on the coast at least, not too sure about the interior & northern BC). There's so many jobs around here it's crazy...Everywhere I go businesses have big "We're hiring" signs. If you're in any sort of construction trade, you're especially lucky. I believe that has alot to do with the olympics coming. Sure the cost of housing is pretty crazy especially in greater vancouver, but rentals still seem to be at about the same level they were a few years ago (for now). Even in the little town in the valley that I grew up in..when I open the employment section in the paper out there there's 3 full pages, 5 years ago there was only ever a handful of jobs posted.

Speaking of the west coast, I'm looking to get into a camp job, does anybody know of some that may be available?

Well, until the day comes where I can get a similar paying job in BC (should break $100k this year), I am here until I retire (rich) and then move to BC (happy). I'll take the "pain" for now. And it's not like I can't head west whenever the mood strikes. My family all live on the Island, Lower Mainland or Kamloops/Vernon, so I have plenty of places to stay.

Hah, you don't have to fend off a mountain biking addiction that gnaws at you every damn day though...

Well that is one of the 'hoods but in it's defence it's a lot better then it was 20 yrs ago.
A lot of the hottest ladies in town go there to dance because they know it's safe from leachers etc.
you missed out on a lot of the best neighbourhoods sounds like
don't forget edmonton has a "rainbow area" too as does every city some are just more open about it then others...
as for tieing your shoes you'd have been safe the queens [no offence/racism/sexism/stereotyping intended] are pretty good at recognizing their own and tend to ignore us straight folk... other then to offer help with wardrobe choices maybe

Other then that enjoy your flight...

Argeed. I'm not big on Suga either by any means (I'm really a country boy at heart which is due to being from Newfoundland).
My only reason for going to TO are the GF and work. Otherwise I never go down there.

I'm thinking I might move to Richmond Hill or Newfoundland this year maybe. However that's more for the GF then for myself. I could do with a change of pace though.

No addictions, but certainly cravings...mtn biking, hiking, fly fishing, snowboarding, camping, golfing, kayaking, etc...all of which are within a day's (if not hours/minutes) driving distance of Calgary....and plenty of access to the amenities only a city can offer. Could be a lot worse places to live in Canada...and good enough for me until I can be where I want to be. Not exactly sure where that is yet...interior of BC probably.

Richmond Hill is a nice city for the most part. Up this way things are relatively quiet and nice, but you get the crazies now and again. Downtown Toronto is horrid yes, I was there way more this month then I ever care to admit. And I refuse to travel the Down Valley Parking lot ever again.

haha, I'm going to Lakefield tomorrow. I live in the South end of Peterborough, near the Memorial Center (Where the Peterborough Petes play) I'm about 10 minutes from Hwy 115. Where abouts in Lakefield are you headed?

There's not much of Lakefield to head too lol.
I don't have the address off hand but I'm going to a friends place, maybe 5 minutes outside of town.

What part of NFLD are you from? I'm a Nova Scotian origonally but I lived in St. John's for 7 years before coming out here last summer. Even took a Torbay girl with me in my luggage! I'd move back to NFLD in a heartbeat, I loved everything about it except the wind!

Both the GF and I would move back in a heartbeat too. It's been talked about a few times.

Flew there into Gander a few times as well. Nice place, well at least the Airport. I love the snow and there was plenty there. Pretty nippy.

Very true, hahaha. I used to work in lakefield so I'm pretty good with the area. I have quite a few friends who live out that way.

Nothing in Sauga. At least an hour and half drive.
I'll be doing some of the rock trails this summer when the truck is ready. They are all up north though.
