The best mod ever is the one in which, between tightening one bolt and the next, you go chase down and get a criminal arrested...lol So yesterday, my buddy and I were working on his mustang installing an intake spacer and jmod (automatic transmission part that gives you smoother shifting and quicker shifts), and an older guy (my neighbor) comes through the alley with his big dog asking frantically if we saw two guys (a black and a mexican) running through the alley and which way they went. Apparently they had broken into his truck and stole his Ipod and wallet. We told him which way we saw them running, he got in his truck and booked it towards that direction. Me and my friend debated whether or not we should jump in the 4runner to help find em but we decided we prolly wouldn't have any luck, so we continued to work on the car. A few minutes later we see the mexican dude running like crazy through our alley and down a small passageway through to the next street..so after we see this we couldn't possibly stay out of it, so we took off after him on foot. Now keep in mind me and my buddy aren't small guys, I'm about 6'1 and he's 6'4 and we were both cross country runners in high school, so we figured we would have some good luck. So we are chasing after him for a good 5 or 6 blocks and it was kind of funny cuz all the people who saw thought we were punks chasing some guy so they were all yelling stuff couldn't really understand em...we finally ran into a cop car so my buddy waved him down and the guy saw the cop and ran even faster..we took a breather to tell the cop what the guy did and which way he was running. The cop took off down the street in his car and we kind of just stood there watching until we see the guy jump a fence and go through back yards..so we knew the cop wasn't gonna catch him... so we took off running again on the opposite side of the street in the direction he was running. We luckily saw him running down the street so we started sprinting til we got close to him...it had to seriously be another 8 blocks and my buddy shouted out "We can go all day if you want" and I laughed and told him "Just your friendly neighborhood spiderman"...lol anyways, he gets on a very busy street in town a little ahead of us, so I KNEW he would run into a shop...we were a bit behind him so we didn't quite see which store he ran in...we started scanning through the stores and just as we looked in one we saw him duck under a shelf...my buddy opened the door and I called the cops...so as I'm is calling the cops, the guy realizes he is cornered and knows there is only one way out...so my buddy is standing at the door and he starts cursing at him telling him to get the **** outta the way or he will kick his ***...my buddy says, Hit me and see what happens buddy! the guy's exact words were "nah man look how big you are!" He pushes past my buddy pretty hard and almost falls as he goes outside...he was about to take off again I guess, til to my pleasant surprise 8 cops cars pulled up..they took a statement from all of us including the old man who just happened to be pulling up... the cops picked the guy up and handcuffed him... we both REALLY wanted to just tackle him or something...or if ONLY he had punched my buddy...but we didn't know what we could do lawfully without getting sued or something so we just kept following him all over... they started questioning him and blah blah blah...the guy was like "I didn't steal nothing" so the cop was like "Well if you DIDNT steal NOTHING, then you stole SOMETHING" haha it was funny....and another cop said "So you don't wanna cooperate? Alright then they are gonna do you reaaaal good in prison." It was crazy what they were saying to him they were just having fun...a couple of the cops thanked us for helping and said some really nice things to us, including a cop that had just pulled my buddy over two nights before lol Unfortunately, as far as we know, the other guy got away, but the guy we caught was ratting that guy out and telling the cops his name and everything...and the guy who got jacked (my neighbor) saw the guy's face real good, so they will prolly get him... So after that very interesting chase, we went back to the Oh so fun job of installing the intake spacer...we finished the whole installation in about an hour which included the cleaning of the intake..since we were set back a couple hours by the chase, we didn't have time to start the jmod before it got dark we did get thanked by the guy and he is taking us out to dinner and all my neighbors were giving us a hard time asking what our superhero names were gonna be..lol So, by day a car mechanic/college student, but by night...we put on our masks and capes... LOL! all in a day's work Interesting day just thought I would share...

I say good for you...too many sh** bags get away easy cause people are unwilling to help...of course its not worth getting yourself hurt over, but alls well that ends well

we stayed back far enough to not get hurt...unless he had a gun, at which point i would have dropped to the ground IMMEDIATELY and not even been visible to him at most places cuz there was obstacles EVERYWHERE...but alls well that ends well...

good job, i love stories like this. i'm in the NRA and i get a magazine every month and in the front there is a page titled "armed citizen" that has quick stories of people victimized by all kinds of human garbage and they defend themselves with their arms (guns) and take down the bad guys and survive. if good people do nothing, evil will trample us. stand up!

thats good you did that... there was a lady on the train the other day and a guy was harrasing her and she moved to the next train and he followed her and out of know where he started beating the sh#t out of her.. and no one on the train did a damn thing but watch......pisses me off wish I could say something to all the p#@sy "mormons" that just sat there and watched.....

I experienced a similar thing a few months back. Me and my friends were standing outside a bar while they smoked a cig (no smoking in bars in Denver) and right across the street my friends truck (who was outside) a kid punched out his driver side window with his fist.

I hear my friend yell, and I look over to see him sprinting across the street. So I take off running too (both over 6' as well) and these two kids dart behind a house, so my friend runs around one side and flushes them out right into me. By that time there were 2 or 3 more of our friends by me.

We grabbed the two kids and surrounded them while the cops were called. Took both of them to jail.

They must have been pretty high to punch out a window with their fist right across the street from a bar with like 10 people standing out in front... Idiots!

I couldnt tell if the guy was a minor or not, cuz hes ABOUT my age, so I didn't wanna even TOUCH him, so I couldnt get sued...
