Battle Field 1942

Anyone playing Battle Field 1942?
Got the game today, and it rocks.
Very realistic action in it.

I have not played it yet, as my youngest son has been playing it for a few hours.

We play a wide varitey of PC games at my home, and have been playing Jedi Outcast as of late, and now the new Jedi Academy that came out last Wednesday.

This Battle Field one looks to be a good winner for a classic WWII type of game.

I kinda stumbled on to it at a online gaming place. I got my friends to play it, no thats all we play when go there.

flying the planes was fun to learn how to fly, then it was trying to figure out how to use the parachute!

I play online all the time. If you really get into it you ned to get the Road to Rome expansion for it. It rocks. Also the Medal of Honor collection is great. They keep updating them with new expansions all the time...... Hmmm a Yotatech Battlefield league. Enjoy the game Corey.

Thanks, I have the RTR expansion too

This game is pretty realistic, much better than some other war type games I have seen.

But I sitll prefer the good shooters like Quake III & Unreal.
But for a good army type game, this one is it.

We use to play the original Delta Force by Nova Logic that came out several years ago, and this is by far better.

Can you use a joystick to fly the planes in BF 1942 or is it mouse only?

I've never tried with a joystick. Being a keyboard/mouse person for shooter games it would be a hassle to pick up a joystick to fly and then drop it when I jump out. I usually only use the plane for transport. I guess if you were just going to fly you could use a joystick.

Desert combat is a whole new animal. Driving and launching scuds is fun!!!!!!!! M-1's, MLRS, TOW Hummers oh my!

Corey if you want REALISM start playing Ghost Recon. One shot can kill you, no health kits and only the ammo you had when you started the mission. Crap, where is that disk?!?
