A BAD DAY INDEED Lucky for him there was people there to dig him out but I think them shelves were a bit stressed don't look like he hit anything very hard.

the racking is designed to carry compression/vertical loads. it doesnt take much of a hit to compromise the structural integrity of the uprights. i used to do safety inspections of racking similar to those, we had a 'dent gauge' for checking the uprights. if the point didnt touch the bottom of the dent, it was immediately cordoned off and stock was removed.
i would think the cage on the lift truck kept the operator somewhat safe, the good thing (from the vid), there was no pedestrian traffic. that situation could have been fatal. lee
