Anyone taken the Caliper personality test??

The Caliper assessment tests are used for employers to test how compatible a candidate is for a job and company they are applying for.

Has anyone taken one of these? I'll be administered one tomorrow, just wondering if anyone has gone through it.

Thanks.

Yep, also have taken the DISC placement and a whole battery of industrial profiling. Just be honest and answer the test with your first instinct. don't try to answer it they way you "think they would like" it quickly shows you are faking and is a quick turn off for employers. I've given them and taken them.. bottom line be honest

I've takin it I think if its the same thing... I had to take it on a computer in some room...

One question was like:

"If your brother stole something from this store would you turn him in?"

I said no... lol asked same about a friend and I said no still...

They called the next week and asked if I wanted the job... so try not to lie to sound good like shift said...

I would, but since I have no personality, what's the point?

Took the test yesterday. There were 2 sorta' tricky sections dealing with determining analogies and logical thinking.

This was one of the easier questions...

Choose the correct logical selection:

* 23: 3,983
* 32: ?

A. 3,839
B. 3,994
C. 4,874
D. 9,599

Thanks for your comments.

These tests typically aren't timed. It took me about 1 1/2 hours. Longer than I expected.

Approx. 200 questions. Each of the questions definitely made you think too.

Is it B. 3,983+11 ?

Finally got the answer ... but too late!

When I learned I was going to take the Caliper test I hit the net and discovered this thread. Lotus's description of the question he posted as "easy" nothwithstanding, I was unable to figure it out and unfortunatley the correct answer was never revealed. Sure enough the same exact question was on the test I took yesterday and I still couldn't figure it out. However, this morning I think I finally got it.

The answer is D.

23 is the sum of the numbers 3,983
32 is the sum of the numbers 9,599

Well, better late than never!

Here's the other one I couldn't get yesterday but figured out today:

A F Z U G L T

What's the next letter in the pattern?

1) O
2) C
3) X
4) N

If anyone else wants some help/advice on Caliper, feel free to ask while it's fresh in my mind!

and all this proves exactly what? maybe im missing something here but i cant quite figure out why it really matters which letter is next in the sequence or the reasoning behind the numbers and how it will affect my job performance.

i applied at the orange box for a p/t job while im in school, had to do a similar test. im a cabinet maker applying for a job in the lumber/millwork/kitchen dept. do i really care about that stuff? does the customer really care either?

sorry for the rant, but its getting to be you require a phd for a bloody part time job for minimum wage!

Caliper is a personality test. It's designed to help employers determine whether an individual's personality is suited for a particular job. It's merely a tool in the interview process.

The "pattern recognition" questions like the one posted are used to determine ability of abstract thinking. There are certain jobs in which being able to think "outside the box" is particularly desirable.

The pattern recognition questions make up only a very small part of the test. Most of the questions are quite different.

You can "rant" all you like but Caliper's been in use for over 40 years and it's not going away. Nor are other, similar tests. Used correctly, they can be valuable.

Incidentally, I took a different personality test many years ago when I applied for a job. The results said hiring me would be "risky." They hired me anyway and I worked there for 16 years. So I guess the "risk" paid off!

thinking outside the box eh? sounds more like they are looking for experience(d) folks. i used to get in trouble 'abstract thinking' when i was in school, they called it 'daydreaming'. man, if only i had known then...

[Answer]
The answer is 1) O
The reason is F is 5 letters after A, U is 5 letters before Z, L is 5 letters after G, O is 5 letters before T.
