Anyone know anything about Nissan Sentra SE-Rs & SR20DET engine swaps?

This may be a long shot, but I've yet to find a good site about the Sentra SE-R/SR20DET swap that isn't on a website for someone SELLING that particular swap.

I don't think there's such a big fad with the sr20 in the sentra. It's more common with the 240sx.

Yeah that's why I'm having a bit of trouble hehe. I've really been doing a lot of searching, this was kind of a last resort...not a lot of Nissan talk around here. I really really like Nissans, they have a less ricey look to begin with, more "sleeper" style. My friend has a Sentra SE-R all stock, but it handles NICE and it's actually quite sport. Sentra would do better with the SR20DET swap because it's MUCH lighter than a 240SX, not a heavy car to begin with. Light, light car + great handling + 204hp STOCK to the wheels = mucho fun!

Yea but I would have to say the 240 with the silvia front looks a million times better.

My roomate owns a 240 sx, its clean and turns on rails, but underpowered.
He is a forum junkie over at freshalloy.com
Plans on doing the swap and upgrading the turbo in a year or so.
So far he has upgraded to 300zx brake calipers/ master cyl and much larger front and rear rotors, stereo, short shifter, and is in the process of buying suspension parts right now.
if you have any specific ?'s about the motor Im sure he can answer them...

I was just wondering about the swap, there's certainly not as much info on it compared to say, a Civic B16a swap. I think I have most of the info I need, but I was wondering what is the upper limits to HP on stock internals and turbo, and also how you take care of intercooling after the swap? it's a sidemount cooler, but you need to have pipes fabricated to run the intercooler in the front? That's the only part I can't figure out...

I have a '96 240sx as my DD and am planning on doing the swap once my engine gives up, if it ever does. I check out freshalloy every once in awhile and they've got some very knowledgeable guys over there that can help you out.

Also check:

http://www.sr20deforum.com

Theres some excellent stuff on there dealing with turboing your SE-R or doing the bluebird/GTi-R/Avenir sr20det swap into your Nissan BXX series chassis. But make sure you search the site before you ask questions theres a ton of info that has already been posted.

http://www.nissanforums.com

This is another great site to check out.

Hope that helps some man.

I know this thread is many years old, but the SR20 that'll fit in a Sentra is the Bluebird model, which is designed for FWD vehicles, being that the 240sx is RWD.
