That's cool. Are you running OSX? I have a G4 tower right now, but I am going to order my laptop in the morning. I am getting one of the new 17" and having 2 1GB cards added to it. It should be blazing fast.

I have OS X installed and running on one hard drive and OS 9 running on a different hard drive. I am still running mostly OS 9, I still have not switched over to X yet. Part of the problem is my computers are really old and at the lower spectrum of what is accepatable to run OS X. Another part of the problem is I work on comptuers all day at work and don't feel like doing more work when I get home. OS X has some cool features but I will probably not switch completely over until I consider OS X "finished". Panther is a big step in the right direction. If I could afford a new G5 tower, that would help, too. Your new laptop will scream with that much RAM. ENJOY!

I grew up with and prefer macs, but they're just too expensive.

I have "both worlds" around here.

I have 3 Windows based machines and two Macs. Windows are spread out as Win XP, Win 2k and Win 98SE. The Mac's are OS 9.x on a "Beige" and OS X on an older Powerbook ("Pismo").

I love them all for various reasons. My main power machine is the Win 2k box, the Beige is my main music composition machine, the Powerbook lives on wireless next to the couch for IMDB lookups and keeping tabs on eBay (and Yotatech!) while watching TV.
