any ipod techs in the house?

the backlight on my 20gb 4G does not work. I opened 'er up. now what?

well im pretty sure you just voided your warrenty by opening it up.. was it still covered?

Have you tried an iPod forum? www.ilounge.com, or google search for ipod forums. You'd get better results there for something like this, I'm sure.

I'm pretty sure the backlight in the ipod is like any other small electronic device. Those damn small LED's that are right on to the circuit board. Something like you would find in a cell phone or a computer on the motherboard for things such as trouble or status codes. Look for a technology repair shop (cell phone, tv, computer they will probably be able to put a new one in and maybe even personalize your ipod with another color?)
