I would guess AC since he lives in florida. Do you have a condensor outside your house with a fan that kicks on when the cool air is blowin inside? If so you have AC...

is it a pump? My new unit has a pump that sends all the condensation to my main drain line. Has it come unplugged?

I'm tryin' to follow you, but my vote is the condensation pump is malfunctioning--maybe check the GFI plug that it's attached to? maybe check the hose wherever it leads and verify that it's not kinked/clogged? the unit Should have a 3/4" pvc pipe feeding into the pump, and a clear 3/8" hose taking the water away. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, and you're pretty sure that is what's wrong, run to a plumbing supply house and buy one for 50.00 or so and change out the old one--may save you some dough to spend on more yota stuff. Hope this helps a little

Yeah, gotta agree w/ excableguy, sounds to me like a bad condensation pump. Is the a/c still working? b/c some of thease pumps are equipped w/ an overflow saftey switch that cuts off the 24 volt power supply for the control wiring. lemme know, c-ya.
