Animated movies

No, I'm not talking Lion King, I'm a little to old for that
But I did enjoy watching Shrek, Ice Age, and Monsters Inc.

I fired up my Windows Media Player a bit ago and it had a vid to watch of the new upcoming Shrek 2.
It looks pretty good.

Went to the website, and they have the vids there also.

Anyone seen the Nemo vid, and is it worth checking out, or is more oriented towards youngsters?

Good movie. Ended up watching it with my 3 year old son everyday since buying last tuesday. Relaxes me a lot.

Nemo is good - but definately no technological leap over the past movies. This seems like the movie they could have made serveral years ago - animation-wise. I still think Monster's Inc. is a better movie than Nemo.

I agree - in the opening scene of Nemo, you can see the ghosting around the clown fish - bad mask job or something. Monster's Inc. was flawless and better IMO. Nemo was alot like Ice Age. Same Disney formula as most. I won't tell what that is so I don't give it away...

Have any of you seen the animated movie Final Fantasy?
I own that since my sons use to play the series on the PC.

It almost looks like you are watching real people the animation is so good.

I'll be pickin' up Nemo this Tuesday when Terminator 3 comes out.

I still think old skool Japanese animation like Akira kicks butt, but Finding Nemo is pretty good.

I like all kinds of anime. I dunno why, I guess its because its more depth than tom and jerry like cartoons. The last few japanese cartoons I watched was about 6 episodes of Initial D. I used to hate subtitles but I got used to them after about the second episode.

That's so SAD Cebby!

If you guys haven't checked it out, the Animatrix is pretty good. It kind of gives you an intro to different forms of Japanese Anime with a subject matter you are already familiar with.

Some of the animatrix I liked and some I didn't. I liked most of the stories but the one I liked the most animation wise was the one where the girl was looking for her cat. I can't remember the name of it though.

Oh yeah... lemme go take a look at my roommate's copy...

"beyond"
that was a pretty good one to watch. An angle that not many people would have thought of.

I think the only ones I didn't like were Kid's story (seriously, do we want to ENCOURAGE that?) and Matriculated - the animators had to have been ON something.

When my friend put on Nemo his 15 month old daughter is just absolutley glued to the TV just like Monsters Inc. did to her too.

I liked it but I did think Monsters was a bit better.

you guys should also check out Ice Age and The Emperor's New Groove. nothing special as far as animation goes, but god movies nonetheless. don't write them off as kids movies either, theyve both got just the right amount of humor. anyone with a dark and/or twisted sense of humor should check out Death To Smoochy. not animated, but entirely hilarious!
