hey guys I'm getting ready to do a oil change and while getting my standard 5w-30 full syn. Mobile 1 ($6.50 a qt.) i
noticed checkers was selling 5w-30 royal purple for $6. I've read a ton of mixed reviews about royal purple. Mobile 1 seams to work great but should I try something new?

I've only heard good things about Royal Purple buy have yet to try it cus have yet to see 1 qt. of RP sell for less than 7 bucks. Have you tried Wallyworld for Mobil1 -> 23.62 for a 5 qt. jug last time I bought

RP is great but I wouldn't run it in a stock Toyota motor but I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a modded,very strained motor in a vehicle for say drag racing or extreme off roading.

$6.50/quart is steep for a stock DD IMO when I can get M1 syn for under $4.50 and it's been doing a great job in my motors for the last 15 years.

I need my money for gas.
