Soooo, if you're in the Calgary area and you need a tailgate for a 1st gen, maybe take a look at this one.

If not, don't post useless replies.

I've seen a rust free 1st gen tailgate go for $500 with a motor in Vancouver. Perhaps you should sell parts to the rust belt.

Oh, for the love of...

Look, I found it on Craigslist and thought it might be useful to someone close by here. First gen parts are hard to find up here. Remember, we have 1/10 the population that you have, we use salt on a lot of the roads, and when something hits a junkyard here, it's picked over pretty quick. It took me forever to find a relatively rust-free end gate with a swing out tire carrier for my 91, and even it had the motor pulled and the interior cover was removed.

So, honestly guys, if you have nothing useful to post, keep it to yourself.

I removed all the BS posts in here.
From here on out, if you don't like the thread then don't post in it.

If you have a problem with it, PM me and we can discuss it.

I also moved this thread to the Hot Deals/Craigslist section.
This is a section devoted to threads just like this.

The OP (Rob) had every right to post a thread to something he thought was a good deal.
He lives there and knows what good prices are.

If you live in say, Arizona, you can't judge what a good deal would be where he is.

Thanks for posting Rob and thanks for staying out of the bickering.

Fink

That's a solid deal. I paid 150 bucks for my pretty rusty 2nd gen tailgate with no motor or window or anything. The rust was only down 2" from the top of the gate though, so I was better off with that than my 6" of rust factory one.

thanks RobD for the courtesy of letting others know what is available.

I'm a 3rd gen guy but lots of first gens down here and if you were to ever need help finding 2nd gen parts Denver metro area has a lot of potential, and I am glad to assist in any way.

That IS a good deal. My buddy just bought one of those here in California for $300.00, dented and with more rust.
I love Canada.
