I bought one of these a couple months ago from 4wheelparts.com and got a lifetime warrenty with no questions asked from them for $360 to my door and I will say I am very happy with it and have since found out it is built for them by warn winch so it got to be a pretty good winch. I have nothing bad to say about it yet but it has only been used a few times and it worked great when needed.

Where did you get that information? Please share it with us. Last time I heard it was built by Mile Marker that is why it is so cheap. Warn makes the cheaper Tabor winches.

So any ideas on how to mount this winch on a 2nd gen 4runner w/o building or buying a new bumper?
Has any one heard of being able to reinforce the stock bumper?
I would love to get a new bumper eventually, but I only have the $$ for the winch right now and I am sure that it will get me a lot further in my wheeling adventures than a fancy new bumper.

Well the point of the new bumber is being able to use it to push yourself up and over things. Using it as sort of a ramp. But I am wondering does this winch fit in the slot provided by an ARB bumper? And to answer your question, I have never heard of reinforcing a stock bumber. Currently, it would rip it off like nobody's business. But you could probably reinforce it. It probably won't be so pretty anymore though

I'd check into that. These are made by Milemarker. That piece of paper may not be worth anything.

I'd buy one if it had a lifetime warranty. But I don't think it does. That would be one great warranty for a winch.

I bought one of those last year and the third time i used it something broke inside. I called smittybuilt and they made me take the whole thing apart and haven't even told me if they will replace the part.

After talking with another guy from 4 wheel parts he set me stright it is built by MILEMARKER for SMITTYBUILT to there spec's so I was misinformed by someone there but it is now corrected.
As for the warrenty here is a copy of the warrenty from 4wheelparts for the lifetime deal but you have to ask for it at the time of order for them to sell it to you for $36.00

You have to ask for the extreme warranty as highlighted in the post above .
I got this info from a manager at one of the stores but they can't do it at the store's any more so he told me to order it from them on the 800 number and ask for the extreme warranty for $36. A lifetime drop it from a 10 storie building sweep it up and send it back for replacement warranty you can't beat it
