The BPV should also have the extend bracket. (This you can easily make) Should have any questions please feel free to Pm me and I will help with your personal setup.

Hey strap, I'm really interested in that 3rd option as I've already gotten lc coils on, but wanted to know what you had found out on the ome shocks and rear travel. I think flyg had mentioned that the rancho 5009's were the best he found at rear flex when he looked and I didn't know if you could get anything from ome that's comparable. Thanks for the deals and all the work you put into it.

i just saw this!! what all does it do and what do i need to know about it? how will it effect my car compared to a 3" body lift..... I was plannin on gettin a 3" body lift and puttin 33x12.50 tires on my 1994 4runner but is this lift better for my runner and offroadin and drving on road? i just saw that it gives 3-4" lift and is not too expensive. Is this a good setup or not? I know nothin about any of these joint spacer, coli spacer, or steering stabilizer...etc.-thanks

Lift Options which is better?

I have a 1994 4runner auto 4wd. I dont have alot of money at all because i have to pay for my college. I have to option for a lift im am wantin to put 33x12.50 tires on and i want to have a good lifted truck.

Option 1Option 1[quote=strap22]New Complete 2nd Gen. Lift Kit

Option 2Option 2
3" body lift

I figure ill regear for the 33" tires hopefully if i have money

So the question is what option is better for my truck? which will give more lift? Which will look the best and will one make my truck look higher than the other? which will make my truck better offroad and on and more? thanks

I would recomend option 2 instead. The coil spacers are not needed with the springs if you are planning on running 33" tires. This is a complete set-up for your generation 2 4Runner. The installation is pretty basic with the exception of the BJ spacer. The BJ spacer will require the upper control arm to be cut out which the instructions show you how to do this. I did this on mine and it was easy with a cut-off grinder. The reason for the spacer is to allow you the additional height without having to crank your Torsion Bars too much and allow you the more flex and a overall better ride. You should also look at getting the Downey drop down bracket for the Pan Hard bar so you can get your rear axle centered after you install the lift springs. Not everybody does it but I think it is a good idea. If you plan on wheeling it hard you will also want invest in the Downey IFS Truss bar. Yours should be the 16.75" bar. You can measure your space between the rear of your lower control arms to be sure. They offer 2 sizes (16.75" and 17.0") There are also threads about additional items you may want to get if you are going to be doing any hard wheeling. Use the search button to check some of these items and you will find alot of helpful information. I hope this helps.............

I am running the option 2 on mine and I run 33x12.50's and It works very well. With this setup I got over 4" of lift with the tires. Option 1 will give you a couple more inches but you will have to crank your T-bars up (stiffer ride) and you will need longer brake hoses as well as the Pan hard bracket. Also your CV's will not be happy and you should switch to manual hubs with either kit. I was just trying to give you some options based on you saying you wanted to put 33x12.50's on. Either way we can get you whatever you decide. Let me know...........

So the second option is better for my runner? The first option would give me a worse ride and will cost alot more because i will have to fix things?Do you have a picture of you runner with that set up on it and 33" tires? is that the only lift you have? What are maual hubs and CV's. Thanks for your help....i dont know alot bout this as you can tell. how much better are these setups compared to a 3" body lift because i was plannin on doing that untill i saw these options

In my avatar is my runner. it looks like the rear is lower but it is not. Manual hus mean you have to get out to lock your wheels. CV's are your front axles.
yes this is the only lift I have on mine. As for body lifts.........only if you absolutely have to, otherwise I think you are asking for more problems. IMO
I hope this helps.......

Think of it this way. A body lift is leaving your frame at the same height and lifting the body up and putting blocks under it. A suspension lift not only looks better, (no gaps between the frame and the body) it is also functional. A body lift has it's applications but start with something useful and build up from there.

A 3" BL can be done but you would have alot things to change. Do a search about BL's and you will see what I mean. Roger Brown makes the best BL's and can help you if that is the direction you want to go. I still stand by my post that you should do the suspension first and make your 4runner useable. After you get that done if you still want more height you can add a BL. I saw your other post last night and you said you have a 3" BL and are running 33x12.50's. I am confused Do you already have this setup or was the other post wrong? I would like to help you get your 4Runner setup but I am not sure what it is you are doing? Please help us help you. Clarify these post so we know how to help.

Phil, I just bought the ball joint spacers and coil spring spacers from you today. Any chance you have the installation instructions for the BJ spacers available on line some where? I know you have to do some cutting and trimming, but I seem to recall someone from this forum had some photos of the process posted.
