FJ Crusier: Rubicon Express Super Flex Joint/1.5" x 1/4" wall DOM Links - BOLT ON!

Like the 96-02 4Runner links we make, there is now a set for the FJ Cruiser. I would also like to take this chance to thank the Copper State Cruisers & IH8MUD for their help in this project.

All the details are here, they are installed on trucks already.

So these would fit fine on 4th Gen 4Runner's as well?

Yes they would. FJC and 2003-2006 4Runner lower links are the same.

That's interesting as to how much longer they are than a 3rd gen.

I sold a ton of these to the FJC people. I qualified for the Rubicon Express dealer "buy in" with only ordering the cheapest possible thing they make.

Over 5K worth of Super Flex Joints @ $35.00 each. This has become a very well liked product.

Sonoran Steel has been working on modifying the 3rd Gen 4Runner since the year 2000. The FJC uses the same style suspension and the joints and brackets are even the same. The 3rd Gen 4Runner has been and is still completely ignored by companies like All-Pro and Man-A-Fre who also came out with links for the FJC. It's too bad those products are a good 6 years behind ours. I see mistakes in there products that we made 4 years ago. When the FJC hit, we could hit the ground running with 6 years of experience, all the Johhny Come Latelys wanting to cash in on the new vehicle rushed untested products to the market.

The people have spoken and this has been a wonderful and extremely successful product for Sonoran Steel. Thanks.

how about offering an all-poly bushing model at a lower price point for folks who can't justify $450 and don't require the ultimate in flex?

We will never do that. Our testing has shown the poly does not give enough, it would actually be worse than stock and rubber gives too much and wears out extremely fast.

Like I said, this has been worked over for many years now. There is not really anything left that we have not already tried. The final formula is outstanding and years ahead of all the rest.

Although these do fit the 4th Gen 4Runner, I am not marketing them to that audience. These are FJC links, made for the FJC.

So far there are well over 50 pairs on FJC's and ONE yes one lone set on a 4th Gen 4Runner.

Equally as many set on the 3rd Gen 4Runners. I have no idea why FJC people and 96-02 4Runner people do not object to the cost, but that is what every 4th Gen 4Runner people has grumbled about.

Also the real "value" of these is the 1.5" x 1/4" wall DOM tube. The ends are just a bonus.

Also price out a replacement set from the dealer for your 4th Gen 4Runner. The cost of these will be less once you buy the links, the bushings and pay the service department to press the bushings into the links.

The FJ's suspension was built from the 4Runner, so the links are identical. Might as well market them to 4th gen owners, too. I'm sure there's a lot of 4th gen owners that don't know the FJ and 4R have the same suspension, maybe that's why no other 4th gen owners have a set of these arms? As evidenced from our emails last month I do plan on buying a set before years end, so I guess I'll be #2 4th gen to have them.

Yes you will be number 2, but number one the way you want to do it and I think that way is really going to be something. Just have some patience, Old Mustang Mike here is on to something really slick I think.

After thinking about this all weekend, at this time I do not feel that I want to add the 03+ 4Runner to the list of vehicles we make parts for.

I am more than swamped with 96-02 4Runner work and that vehicle is my main emphasis.

The lone FJC part has been in production for a while now and has been throughly tested in the field under my personal supervision. These links will more than likely be our only FJC product.
