Feedback requested - Hitch-mounted travel/camp kitchen ...

As you know some SUVs (and small cars) are notoriously short of gear storage space. To help alleviate space problems, I'm developing a self-contained hitch-mounted camp kitchen called "HitchKitchen".

This sturdy aluminum/stainless steel kitchen includes a sink with hand-pump faucet, room for a refrigerator (or ice chest), stove, fresh water supply and waste water tank. This kitchen can be used in-route while mounted to the vehicle. At the destination, the kitchen can be removed from the vehicle and set up in camp.

A larger wooden prototype of the HitchKitchen can be seen at: www.HitchKitchen.com. The HitchKitchen was designed to compliment my roof top tent - both pieces essentially morph an SUV into an off-road capable RV.

Size is about 36" wide, 28" tall, and 21" deep. The L-shaped counter unfolds to a total of 6 foot length. Empty weight is about 100lbs., loaded weight could be 200 to 250 lbs - which may require boster springs for small cars - probably OK for most SUVs.

I put a bathroom in the wooden prototype, but this proved too big for the first incarnation of the aluminum version. Is a toilet/shower/hot water necessary? I may put this into v.2

What are your thoughts about the commercial feasability of the HitchKitchen? Keep in mind that the HitchKitchen is dismounted for serious off-roading. The HitchKitchen is well sealed against dust and the mounting frame is very rugged to absorb most travel over dirt roads.
