setup recommendations

what setup would you guys recommend to compliment a 1.5" bj spacer lift on a 92 pickup 4x4 excab?

downey 2 or 3" lift springs

with

downey 2.5" over stock shackles or marlin 1/1.5/2" over stock shackles

i would personally go as big a lift a lift as you want.... in your above named setup i would do downey 3" with downey 2.5" over stock shackles

wait a sec, are the 2.5" over stock shackles jsut longer by 2.5" meaning a 1.25" lift? or are they 2.5" lift shackels meaning 5" longer than stock? i would personally not lift anything over 2" with shackles (4" longer than stock)

i think the shackles are 2.5" longer than stock, so a 1.25" lift

what i'm trying to avoid here is making the truck look too funky. but, i'm not sure exactly what difference between front and rear lifts would make it look weird. i'm all about functionality though, so if a minimal lift would have the same net abilities as a maximum lift, i'd have no qualms about playin it small

I would start with one or the other. New springs are a good option if your old ones are sagging. 2" or 3" would be fine, a 2" spring will likely be softer than a 3" spring. If you find you need a little more lift after installing the springs or after the settle with time, then add the lift shackle. You can re-use the stock shackles if they are in good shape, no need to replace.

great advice, thanks a ton

i'll keep the stock shackles for now, and go with the 3" springs, which i hear do sag after some trail use
