Putting some new leafs but jack and jack stands are not tall enough to reach

the body's frame.... sooo cutting corners i was thinking jacking it from the rear

axle and taking tires off to lower it down to the jack stands under the frame??

To that i would be taking the front tires off too, so its not at a huge slope....

sounds a little sketchy but will probably work....just be sure to block the front end...and Don't even consider Cinder blocks...
cutting corners when crawling around under a truck is never a good idea.
I have some 2x12's that I have screwed together to help me gain a few inches on my jackstands...the tall jack stands that Harbor freight has are a great investment...

That is how I work on my '85 all the time. I also made spacers for under the jack stands to increase their height a few inches. I used some 2x4 wood for the spacers, sized to fit the base of the stand:

The tallest ones at the harbor freight is the 12 tons right?

yeah I think so, i had a set but traded them for something should have kept them.

but I think 4Crawler's pic is a good example of using a shorter jackstand with a pyramid style 2x4 riser...just make sure they are nailed/screwed good too...
very cost effective too...buy a couple of 2x4's cheap and go for it..
