Lift came in 2.5" do I need diff drop?

I just received my lift I got from the classifieds... 2.5" Cornfed front spacer and 2.5" downeys with bilsteins that were shipped here monday from AZ.

I placed an order for a diff drop from 4Crawler on the weekend and got a tracking number Monday but have not received the diff drop yet. Kind of weird since they are in CA and I am also... should have been here already...

I had plans to lift the Runner tomorrow... My question is whether or not it would be ok to install the lift first and wait for the diff drop to come in and then install that, probably a few more days??? I won't be doing any offroading in the mean time, just daily driving. Or should I use some spacers for now for the diff drop? If so anyone know how much and what bolt I should get also?

Yes, that would be perfectly okay. A lot of people don't install the diff. drop until later anyway, and definitely not before they already have a lift installed. That said, I'm not sure but I would've thought that 2.5" wouldn't require a diff. drop.

I agree with rocky, I don't think you need the diff drop for 2.5", but if you are going to do any off-ropading in it I would suggest you do, cause that puts to much stress on your cv's. For now it won't hurt it just driving on road...

The diff drop kit shipped Monday as your Paypal transaction status indicates.Shipping selected was Priority Mail and that is 2-3 days typical delivery time. Since the parts went out late in the day on Monday, may show up Thu or Fri.

And it is no problem installing the lift one day and the diff drop some time later. It is not like your front end will explode the first time you drive after the lift is installed. And there is really no time savings doing both installs together or at different times.

Looks like the 3-day delivery time was about right. I just got a box shipped Priority mail today and it too took 3 days from SoCal. Sometimes they take a day or two, but then other times it is 3 days or so.

I think USPS is weird... Last time I was waiting on a package that shipped literally 4 miles away from me and it took USPS 7 business days to get to me...

I'll snap some pics tomorrow.

here is a pic of it!

Still need an alignment and some larger tires... I am debating whether or not to go with 16x10 with 305/70/16's or not...

I recently got a 2.5" lift as well (OME) and added 285 M/T's...They're plenty big for the intermediate wheeling I do, but if i wanted any size larger (like 305's) I would more than likely need a body lift and probly offset wheels because right now, at full turn my 285's rub the frame a little...with 305's it would be even worse.

good luck!
