Dual cases 4 wheel drive switch question

So just swapped in dual cases into my 93 v6 with a fancy adapter. Everything works as it should EXCEPT 2 things!

1: My stock case had 2 wires going to the 4wd switch, but the gear drive case is only a single wire. Wiring ideas?

2: I have a spare gear drive case to use as a backup, and cannibalized the single wire 4WD switch to use on the duals (and figure out the wiring later) Thread pitch and size it fits, however, it's roughly a half inch SHORT for the shift rail detent to engage the 4WD switch. WTF to that? Are there different lengths of rf1a 4wd switches?

Thinking I need the switch to work cause doesn't that engage the ADD when it lights everything up?

Well, seeing as noone has any clue, I figured I'd take some detailed pics (a single, detailed pic, actually) of my conundrum and the fix!

The picture kinda says it all. Depths of donor gear drive case 4wd switch in 2wd and 4wd, and my dual case setup 2wd/4wd depth.
The fix? Just put a simple switch inline so for the meantime, I can just turn on my 4wd light, which in turn engages my ADD. Boom. Ghetto fix. But given I have no idea what's going on with that factory 4wd switch, desperate times, desperate measures.

That's a really funky setup... But, I guess whatever works!
