budbuilt skids and bolt heads

For those of you who are running budbuilt skids, are the bolt heads exposed? If so, is there concern about they getting trashed and no longer being able to remove the skids?

They are the leading contender for my 96 4Runner.

I don't have one, so I could be wrong, but I thought all the holes were countersunk w/ allen head bolts so that they it flush...I know his crossmember is made like that.

from the pics I've seen, that appears to be the case. But if not, that's a problem for me and would likely cause me to go with someone local for custom made skids. I just want to be sure...

The allen bolts on the skid are recessed. The belly pan ones are not. But the heads on them are smooth so I would not loose much sleep over them.

It looks like you had some issues with gas tank interference on the belly skid. How did you fix it?

Bud bent the trailing edge of my belly pan way up. I figure he does this for tacomas and he forgot it was for a 4runner. He appologised and offered to pay for it to be shipped back but since I had already painted it I just took a cut off wheel to the bent up edge.

NO LONGER lacking an engine. :D :D

The tacoma is nice, but... sniff ... I'll update my site when I'm done grieving.
