Talking Body and suspension lift are done

1” Body lift from 4crawler.com (Thanks Roger)

Lifting the body, putting the 1” blocks, and the steering shaft extension was a piece of cake, took me about a 3 hours, taking my time. To install the front bumper, was a pain…took me forever. I got the 1” bracket for the cosmetic bumper, but the 00-02 have an inside bumper “the real bumper” and have couple options to lift it, after trying to figure it out how I was going to do it, I just bolt it to the stock position in a little angle. I was able to bolt the two bottom bolts, but not the top one. I’ll take some pics later. If you get a 1” Body lift you can install the inner bumper in the stock location.

OME Suspension lift

OME N91S Front Shocks
OME 881 Front Coils
OME N86 Rear Shocks
OME 891 Rear Coils

Installation for the rear was very easy. The front was all right the hardest part was to compress the OME881 coils. It took me about 8 hours to installed the whole suspension. I borrow the spring compressor from AutoZone.

Wheels
Centerline Hellcat Style 34, 16x8 Polished Aluminum Rims. I think backspacing is 4.5 the tires are BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM size 285/75/R16.

The rig looks hot, love the OME suspension and wheels, but I hate the performance. I knew that after putting those big heavy wheels I was going to loose some performance, but I never thought it was going to be that much, I can always fix that

Question Questions

If I re-gear my rig, what are the new gears I have to go with? 4.88?
I’m not sure what gears I got now, but I think I have a 3.3 / 3.42 gears.
My Vin plate A/TM #s:
A01A/A340E

Do I need a PanHard Drop and Parking Brake Bracket?

What is the speed rating for the BFGoodrich Mud Terrains?

I need to do an aligment, but before I go to any shop, where should I take it?
I'm in San Diego.

My tires are rubbing against the Upper A-Arm. I guess, I can shave them a little, but if I do that, am I going to have any problems?

Well I'm not sure how yahoo works, but your links are not direct links to image files (.jpg). There seems to be some kind of php stuff going on

Speed rating, look up on the tire sidewall to find out:
http://www.4crawler.com/Diesel/Tires.shtml#SpeedRating

Tire rubbing, a wheel spacer 3/16" to 1/4" would fix that as well.

For new gears, to restore to stock effective gearing, take new-tire-size / stock-tire-size * stock-gearing = new-gearing.

pix work for me, looks great! follow rogers link and get ready for a few more dollars to disappear from your wallet! if you decide to change wheels you can get them with the correct back spacing to eliminate the rubbing issue with the 'a' arm. 4crawler.com has a pretty comprehensive site with lots of info, dig around and you will find more info on just about anything you could want to do!

I have the same problem with the a-arm rubbing, I grinding some of it down, but it still get REALLY close when I flex. And that's without airing down.

So I'm probably gonna go with 1" wheel spacers. Just make sure you get the one with studs, no slip on spacers.

looks hot.

Still haven't figure it out what's the speed rating for the tires:
here is what the sidewall has:

LT285/75R16 122/119 Q M+S

Q= 99 miles per hour
M= 81 miles per hour
S=112 miles per hour

Before the lift I used to drive between 80/90 (flow of the traffic), now I haven't past 70

Q is the speed rating. The M+S is Mud + Snow rated.

Send a message via Yahoo to bamachem
you'll want to go to 4.56 gears w/ the 285's on there.

you can get yukon for the rear, and you don't have to worry about the front since you're 2WD.

expect to pay about $250-$300 for the gears and master install kit, then another $100-$250 in labor to put them in depending on how much work you do and how much the shop does...

looks good!

I just did the Pan Hard drop and got an alignment. What a difference it made. I would recommend it with any lift 2" or more.
