I'm trying to decide between getting the bull bar and the rear locker.

I should be getting about a grand back from taxes and I have recieved permission from my fiance to spend it on my truck.

I'm already planning on re-gearing in the near future which makes me lean towards the locker since I will be in the rear anyways.

But, I really like the look of the bumper. Plus the ability to mount a winch, aux lights, and CB antenna.

What would you do?

I have read many debates on this subject but it usually is a locker VS. winch. (which in this case means bumper than winch)

The locker gets you farther without having to hammer your truck but the winch will get you out and over. But it just takes more time.
A lot depends on how you like to wheel.
Do you wheel alone?
What type of terrain do you wheel in?
What do you need most? Protection in the front or traction?
Is it one or the other or is it which is first?

Since I wheel with others mostly I focus on traction.
Everyone is different.

I'm with Lance on this one. I'd lean toward a locker, as it's more functional than a bumper, but if you're thinking of a winch, than that might change your reasoning. I've found my toyota's weakness is articulation, which is ameliorated by a locker.

I have both... but I use the lockers 100 times more that the winch. Definately do the locker at the same time as the gearing change.

I'd do locker, unless you want to have the bumper/winch so that when you GET the locker and you get in some pretty heavy stuff you can winch/get pulled out via the bumper.

I would probably go locker...but I think a locker is gonna be more than an ARB.

do the locker when you regear, it will save you tons of money in the end, also you can probably sell your old gears too.....

a locker, that way you can get stuck to the point you might need the bumper, but i doubt it

i got my bumper before i did my locker and i never really had a regret doing one before the other. really i think i am glad i had the bumper before i had the locker because you do a lot crazier stuff with a locker, therefore you need protection, cause things are gonna get jacked up.
