Anybody got a pic of a Downey Idler Arm Brace installed?

I bought one used from a member here and cant for the life of me figure out how it goes on. I have a pretty good idea but don't want to tear it off the frame to test my theory. Any pics of one installed would be great!

You have to unbolt the top and slide it down and then rebolt. It's been a while but that is what i remember. I also remember if your idler arm is bent even the slightest amount you'll struggle to get all the bolts on the arm itself in. Works though!

I have no idea who made this one because I got it for free. People tell me it's a downey, though.

Thanks guys. My theory was that it had to go over the top by my idler arm has a big rounded cover on the top of it. I'm guessing the nut is under that. Is that cover filled with grease or anything or is it just a cover? Also I don't have the bolts that go through the other two holes are them anything special or just regular bolts to hold the brace to the idler arm itself? AJ I hope mines not bent it's brand new I just replaced it because my MOOG one went to crap. That's why I bought the brace too. That thing was like $160 from Toyota. All the local shops didn't have one in stock and I was away from home replacing my CV axle when I found it so I HAD to fix it.. it was bad..haha

It's just a cover, no grease...you should be able to just pry it off. The bolts are just normal bolts, I believe, but you might want to get some kind of graded bolt.

Robinhood150,
That idler arm brace looks just like the one that I got from NWOR. Perhaps they ordered them from Downey as well.

I just got one of these from Downey. You don't reuse the cap on top of the nut. I'll post pics of the install.
