The 2001 tundra has door speakers and a seperate tweeter, right. how is the factory tweeter wired/or hooked up? is there a factory crossover? or is it spliced together with the main speaker?

No crossover, the wires split from the main line in a Y...one side going to the tweeter and the other going to the main speaker.
