The Toyota looks better IMO. I think the Nissan does have best in class towing capacity.

every one I know that has a full size nissan (3 titan's and 2 armadas) has been disapointed with the vehicle
1) poor warranty service (and needing lots of it)
2) milage way worse than advertised
3) general fit and finish woes (hidden rattles that the dealer can't find)
4) feels week for the amount of advertised HP (seat of the pants

from an parts industry insider POV (myself) Nissan has problems with the parts supply chain and just general support to the dealers from Nissan itself. (most parts take a minumum of 1 week or longer to get versus Toyotas 1 day turn around (if you get the yota order in before cut off, otherwise its 2 days)

from what I've seen Nissans also don't hold there value as well (about like GM in 3 years your 35k+ SUV will only be worth 10K to 15k)

I agree with all four statments.
2 people in my family plus a friend of mine own a newer 04+ nissan and all 3 have had their vehicles in the shop on more than one ocassion. I used to think nissan was pretty good but not anymore.

and yeah, the Sequoia does look better and probably has twice the amount of quality/realiabilty that you'd expect.

edit: i still wouldn't mind owning one of these though.

According to Consumer Reports (April '06) the Armada is the worst vehicle in the entire Nissan line-up.

The similar Infinity QX56 was rated the worst vehicle in both 2004 and 2005.

I have a buddy at work that complains about this all the time.

I have ridden in 3 different Armada's and personally didn't notice any issues. I can tell you one thing though: all 3 of them hauled some serious butt. I mean, pin-your-head-in-the-seat power. Oh, and they sound great stock (but even better opened up).

I have no experience with the Toyota.

Wow, I didn't see that Consumer Reports article - good to know. I drove one earlier in the week and it seemed to ride pretty well. No plans for a purchase any time soon though. Hopefully a Sequoia will come around.
