New to me 2004 V8 4.7 with KN cold air intake also new to me. The check engine light came on and diagnostic trouble code suggests the IAT sensor has bad connections, has failed, has open return circuit or is shorted to voltage. I assume the IAT is the module attached on top of air intake also if it had a GF chip installed it also would be right there on the wiring harness. If I'm in the right place I don't see a GF that might foul things nor any obvious problem. The air filter is all black so seems it needs cleaning. I've searched on line and so far can't find a replacement.
Any advice on fixing my situation.

Did some more research and found I'm in the right place and the IAT sensor (intake air temperature) is part of the MAF sensor (mass air flow) so found replacement MAF sensor for about 80 bucks if I need it. First I want to try a MAFs spray cleaner and clean the air filter. Then if need be will ohm test the sensor with a hair dryer.
Can anyone tell me the ohms cold then hot for a working sensor and any suggestion for a good cleaner to try. I already have the KN cleaning kit for Filter.

Hopefully you have fixed the problem by now, but I'm throwing in this information anyway, and it's for my 2010 5.7, hope it helps.

3UR-FBE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: MASS AIR FLOW METER: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER

(a) Check the output voltage.
(1) Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 (+B) and 2 (E2G).




NOTICE:
While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

(2) Using a voltmeter, connect the positive (+) tester probe to terminal 3 (VG), and negative (-) tester probe to terminal 2 (E2G). (3) Blow air into the MAF meter, and check that the voltage fluctuates. If the result is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.


(b) Perform a visual check for any foreign matter on the platinum hot wire (heater) of the mass air flow meter shown in the illustration. OK:

There is no foreign material.


(c) If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter.




(d) Check the IAT sensor.




(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance:






(2) If the result is not as specified, replace the MAF meter.

Thanx Kuzbro this good info if I had to go that far. Luck has it I got some MAFM electronic cleaner and a cleaning kit for the CAC. The air filter in particular was very dirty. A good cleaning of both fixed me up.
