you can't go wrong with monroe shocks. As for the oil I'd say check out the motor before you change it to see where it is leaking oil if it isn't then go ahead and go to synthetic.

i have a 98 t myself with 130k miles on it. no leaks. i started using the valvoline high mileage, and love it. my truck feels new, no leaks, and rund great.
i use bilstein shocks, and they seem a little stiff, but ok. i would say go cheap as well. another thing you can do is pick up some sway-a-way torsions, and give the front a lil help. other things to look into is an aftermarket exhaust and intake. basically a free-er flowing muffler and a cotton-mesh filter like k&n will help tons. thats basically all there is for the 2wd t. its a great truck....enjoy |
