Early 2000-2004 Tundra Dependability?

Hey all, a week ago today my 1993 Limited Extended Cab 4X4 got totaled out.I had it for around 10 years and it was a great, extremely dependable ride. I'm going to miss it, but figured I'd upgrade to an early 2000-2004 V8 4X4 Tundra.I'm just curious whether there's anything issues in particular to look for in this model. I'm also curious as to how dependable these are, and what kind of MPG I might expect? I only got 16-18 in my 6 cyl 1993 4X4, so I figure the V8 probably isn't much worse, and at least it has a bigger motor.

Any info will be appreciated.

Here's the last I seen of my 93:

Many thanks all. Based on all the valued input and opinions collected here over the past month, I went ahead and took the plunge and bought a sweet 04 Double Cab Tundra. Got it for what seems to be a great price as well. Never even drove one before, but I'm very impressed with everything about it. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck as well. With what the insurance paid on my totaled 93, I only had to add $2200. to the Tundra. It runs perfect and everything works great, so I think I'll do a total custom exterior makeover. I already have a pretty unique 2-tone paint scheme in mind as well as some exterior mods.

I know many of you will be on the edge of your seats with anticipation on what I'm going to do, so I'll post back with pics once completed.
