97 T100 exhaust

I have a 97 T100 and I am about to install headers and custom exhaust. I would like to run a muffler and no cat but Im not sure if it will cause a check engine light . I have done it on a 95 4Runner but it only had one O2 before the cat. The T100 has two, before and after the cat.

Any help would be great. Thanks

hey man.. if i were you i would leave the cat off too but it is going to make the check engine light come on.. i put edelbrock headers on mine and ran true dual exhaust with no cats.. just put a picture in front of the light or take the bulb out.. its not going to hurt anything by cutting it off..

Wack off the the cat. I did and I have not regreted it. I had an O2 sensor go bad so I put it in bank 2 (after where the cat should be) since then I have not had a problem and my mileage did go up after cutting everything off. I left the stock muffler on, it sounds good ( not to raspy or loud).

I would not want to have my "check engine" light on all the time! What if something else happens that causes the light to come on, you will never know until there is a major problem with your engine. Just my .02

Light

I'm with you on that one. I would be worried that something else could go wrong and not know it until it's too late and the smoke is rolling or something.

I plan on cutting it at the y. And doing a true dual exhaust. Do I need both o2 sensors in there somewhere or can I run it without. Or will my mileage tank. Or will the ending run in the mythical safe mode
