Talking My new FJ addition

I recently aquired an original 66 FJ40 in fairly good shape. I had to order a few brake parts since no shoips here have those crazy old metric sizes. Other than that I tuned it up and drive it all the time. I am trying to get a new drivetrain together and am stuck on two choices. I could use a SBC converted to a W55 toyota 5 speed with transfer case or use a SBC and chevy T-5 converted to a toy transfer case. The advantage I see with a T5 is they are easier to get than a W55 and a lot cheaper. Then I can just get the adapter to my stock transfer case. What kind of combos do people here have? I also want to put a later FJ axle under the front if anyone knows of any for sale. But as soon as I finish the drivetrain it's getting 4" leafs with a shackle reversal and 35's if they'll fit. This is just for a cruiser, weekend warrior type, my Taco's the crawler.

Looks good! Is the rear axle really for forward or is it just me?

why does it look like the body is pushed back about 4" ?!?!?

Ih8mud is going to be a much better board for the FJ series. IMHO

No the bodies where it's supposed to be. The back wheel has a lot more room than it seems, the fenderwell is hollow in front of the tire and goes all the way to the body line behind the door. That's what I like about it, usually you have to trim the front to fit big steer tires, not the case with these.
