Landcruiser purchase questions
first of all, i hope i am not posting in the wrong section, sorry if i am!!
i said i would never do it, but i am thinking of selling my truck and getting a landcruiser. now i am not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on one. . . so i am thinking of getting an early 90's or so cruiser and hopefully only spending $7000 or less. I am thinking this is possible. the reason i am posting this is because i am wondering if there are any years i should look out for... good/bad and any options i should perhaps opt for? i am totally new to the landcruiser world, i have never owned one nor had anyone i know who has owened one. if there is perhaps a website that i have overlooked that can maybe teach me of the different aspects of the landcruiser's evolving years that would be cool to rather than wasting everyones time. thanks in advance!!

96+ 80 series are pretty nice
If you can afford the 80 with front/rear lockers you're grand!

have a customer who has two LCs. and there is some big time LC customizer just a ways from my house over in Sonoma. There is also a magazine like 4 Wheel drive Toyota owners, but just for Cruisers, i might have the copy he gave me somewhere.

Spend time on Mud as noted above. It is THE cruiser webspace. You can definitely get a 80 series for $7k. You will probably need to do some body work, maybe some engine work, and absolutely birfield service, but it can be done.
Oh, and since you are talking an 80 series (which has a solid front axle) this is the right place ![]()
