Early Land Cruiser rear emblem question...

Are the early Land Cruiser rear 4WD emblems screwed into the panel or are they an adhesive? I'm looking to put one on both my 2008 4Runner and my 2001 4Runner.

Any help is appreciated. Cheers!

they have threaded studs on them - but you can easily cut them off

3m double side tape. make sure you clean both areas the tape will touch and allow the cleaner to dry before sticking on.

Loose, where can I pick up that adhesive? Is it pretty common?

E6000 is just about as common as JB Weld and Super Glue. You can get it pretty much anywhere these days, like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Michaels, even some grocery stores carry it.

It's a rubber-based glue that creates a VERY strong bond that is flexible, waterproof, and I think paintable. It's very similar to ShoeGoo and Goop, etc. I've used it plenty of times and it's definitely a great adhesive to keep around. Nice thing about it is it doesn't really dry up in the tube unless the metal tube has cracks or there's not much left inside.

I agree the stuff is amazing. My Desert combat boots I wear while hiking the papago peaks here in Phoeninx...Itll be 106* +, I used this stuff to reseal my soles back on...evidently the glue that originally held the soles on were not made for such extremem heat he in AZ..hahah. anyway the e6000 I got at home depot. I think on the eat coust they call the store Home Base. pretty much any hardware store.

Its great keeping things together

Great idea. I have a spare emblem, wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I'll put it on my Sequoia!

loosechange, did you use a rubber piece in between the emblem and the body, or did you glue the emblem directly to the body?

4mydogs, if you do place a rubber piece on your emblem prior to attaching to your sequoia could you post pics on the step by step process?

fairly certain if you use e6000 or a silicone/rtv you can just glue directly to the body. if you need to take it off, use a string to cut through the glue, then peel off the adhesive and it should not have taken any paint with it.

Remembered this thread over the weekend, so here are pics. Skipped the rubber and put it directly on with adhesive.
