'94 anti-lock brakes... don't
Greetings: My second post. My recently acquired '94 Cruiser doesn't like to stop. Brake surfaces new throughout but the problem is the anti-lock system. At speed they seem okay but get down to about 5mph and the pedal hardens up, the ABS starts rattlin' and without EXtreme pedal pressure you keep going. What a surprise the first time that happened!
I am wondering - possible air trapped in the system (supposedly professionally bled), or a sensor problem or...what can anyone tell me? I am comfortable with just disconnecting the whole ABS system for a while (like I did in one of my 4RnRs) if the alternative is costly. If I did do that I see no dedicated fuse, so what would be a good temporary disconnect that keeps my brake system functional?
I'll offer "Thanks much for the help." now to any replies 'cause dial-up sucks.

I had this problem myself, (almost pooped myself the first time) so I pulled the ABS fuse/relay (it is under the hood, look in the users manual that came in the vehicle). No more ABS but it stops. This is specualtion but when I noticed that there were a bunch of metal shavings on the ABS sensor when I did the wheel bearings, I figured this was the problem, I have not put the relay back in. The ABS Sensor is easy enough to pull, clean, and re-attach, so you could try that. There were LOTS of shavings on the side that the wheel bearing had nearly dissintegrated (did bearings a month or so after purchase)
