'93 Cruiser center differential lock switch addition?

I just bought a 93 Land Cruiser with the twist switch for front and rear differential lock. I read somewhere that the center dif lock is automatic when you shift into low range, but that wiring exists to add a switch that allows you to lock the center dif while in hi range as well. Now I can't find the article and don't remember if this applies to this year Land Cruiser. Please take pity on a Newbie and let me know if it does! Thanks in advance.

All you need to do is buy a CDL switch from 95-97 LC and plug it in where the switch is for the later model ones. Done.

Super simple.

The easy way is to pop the dash out where the radio is and pull forward the wiring for the CDL. It's tucked towards the back to the left of the radio and has a bit of foam around it. The part with the foam is actually a cap, so pull it off. You can either plug it into a CDL switch if you buy one or go to a junkyard and get a hazard light switch. The CDL wiring will plug right into that as well. What I am doing until I get to a junkyard is this..... I have the wiring for the cdl pulled through a switch pop out and the wiring and switch for the hazards pulled forward as well. When I go play, I disconnect the hazard switch and connect it to the CDL wiring until I am done.

On the same topic, when I got my truck the dif lock indicator switch had not been used for a long time. It had gummed up a bit and was not showing that the diff lock was engaging. After consulting with the folks on Landcruiserclub.net and Slee, I pulled the switch and cleaned it up with paper towels. I worked the plunger many times and reinstalled it and it now works like a champ. If you are shifting to 4L and your ABS and Diff lock lights are not coming on, this is your most likely culprit. I also had to pull the drivers foot rest, pop out the 4wd computer, disconnect the wires, blow them out good, and hook it back up to get the CDL to work. Sounds like a lot of work, but I really only spent about 3-4 hours total on everything. Hope that helps. Any questions, feel free to ask. I don't know much except what I did, but I can share info on that.
