1991 landcruiser engine question
I am looking to buy a 1991 landcruiser localy. I have always wanted to own a fj80 but i do not know alot about them. It seems fairly solid but my concern is about the engine. At an idle it has what sounds like a ticking rocker arm or upper vavle train noise and does speed up with rpm's. I did not know if that is normal for a 3fe engine it has 119000 miles. I know some other straight six motors like a jeep 4.0 has quite a bit a valve train noise and is cosidered to be normal. Any info on what to look for in this vehicle will be a big help.

It's a noisy motor. the 91's are pretty underpowered but the motors are bulletproof. If you can though a 93 to 97 are the desirable ones.
You should get on www.IH8MUD.com and read the stickies as well ther eis some good info on Slee's sight.

X2. Try to find a 93-97 with the 1FZ-FE. More power than the 3FE.
