Hi just been searching Google for an exact year / generation the RC4WD Mojave body is mean't to be can't seem to get a conclusive answer. Being new to the Hilux series I seem to find the right year but they have the incorrect 'round' headlights instead of the square. I'm really confused as I would like to build mine using the correct trim and paint colours. Probably easy but I'm a newbie

I don't understand your question. It's considered a 1st gen pickup.

The Mojave body is a hilux/1st gen pickup. You can swap the lights to round if you like, you need to look for Tamiya Hilux parts tree for grille/lights. FYI, the Mojave is RC4WD's reproduction of Tamiyas Hilux because they semi-stopped producing it many years ago, and there is a huge demand for it still - they have square lights whereas the other has round. Look over at RCCrawler.com for tons of info on these bodies.

The mojave body is an 82-83 with the square headlights and 6 slot grill. the tamiya bruiser body is a 79-81 with the round headlights and 4 slot grill

Also the nikko body thats been made since the early 80's is an 82-83
